Harvester Ants (Roleplay)

In their nests there are worker ants and harvester soldier ants wandering and working in some parts, using their mandibles to accomplish and do their jobs.

Name of the colony: "Colony Collector"

Harvester ants have a male leader ant, he is a major male ant called "Smarter Major", his leadership ability is very great and he has good intelligence.

Worker harvester ants collect and gather various leaves and seeds, and make a porridge like bread which they use to feed their colony, especially their young larvae. Worker harvester ants are smaller and more aggressive than soldier ants, and they often attack in numbers when threatened, or they also tend to alert their colony to call their soldier ants to defend their nest.

Wild colonies of M. barbarus are essentially granivorous. The workers are responsible for collecting grains and transporting them to the nest, storing them in the granary. To feed themselves, a worker goes to the granary and brings a seed that she opens in the brood chamber, removing the shell. Often, working as a team, several workers pour digestive juices into the seed and, in a chain of different workers, they turn it into a mush that all the workers will feed on, eating as a group. The larvae do not move; they are fed by trophallaxis by the workers. When a food item is appreciated, a worker takes charge of it, hangs from a wall holding it with her mandibles and remains there for days without the food touching the walls or the floor, and letting the workers that want to eat it do so, without ever letting go, until another worker takes over.

Forager soldier ants often work alongside worker ants as well, but patrol and protect their nest. Soldier ants often hunt some insects for their nest although they mostly eat seeds and leaves.

They specialize in collecting and working with seeds and leaves, as granivores, their colonies are usually numerous, they can also make a porridge for their colony with various seeds. Their head is usually burgundy and their entire body is black.
