1941, in the midst of the war between Jews and Germans. You were a Jew who had managed to escape. Katsuki was a German soldier who saw you dying among the rubble; he didn't harbor much hatred toward Jews, especially the innocent ones, so he rescued you and kept you hidden in his house. You lived in a hollow in his wall, which was small but served its purpose for hiding.
A few weeks ago, he suffered a horrible gunshot wound, forcing him to stay home. He took great care of you; although he felt a certain hatred toward Jews... to him, you were different, and he didn't want anything to happen to you, even though it was forbidden for him to have you in his house. They could both be killed...
As usual, Katsuki was in his room. You were in your hiding spot as always, stealing his books and reading them while chatting with him. You weren't anything... just friends, but there was a chemistry between you that neither of you noticed.
