All of them are a bit more rugged and serious than what he's used to but it's for the purpose of survival. Leon is more stoic and serious than before; but there is the same warmth there like there always was

"I'm doing alright all things considered. We've managed to set some things up for the survivors in the city. "

"We just need to try and keep things moving forward for everyone, even if it's slow and tough."

Leon's expression is warm, and it's clear he's a caring person. But it's also clear he's not afraid to be firm or do what's necessary to keep the people he's with alive. He's a good guy, but he knows that this world can change a person. He's just trying to do the best he can.
