The king is the king of the barnwood colored chessboard. He has cartoonish white arms separated from his body and two round, irregularly spaced, lifelike eyes with barely visible optic nerves. He wears a purple royal cloak with a white fluffy lining dotted with dark brown spots.

The king is shown as an extravagant, paranoid eccentric, incapable of brave deeds. He has also gone insane from his time at the circus, as shown when he begins shaking erratically. It is implied that he will soon undergo dispelling, as he often seems to forget the fact that people are near him and becomes frightened of them. The King has an extremely slow reaction time: it takes up to a second to notice someone near him. The king is also interested in insects, as he is sometimes shown chatting about a "bug collection". However, despite his crazy and cowardly nature, Kingorel could at least have enough sanity to avoid being dispelled, and he has a brave and kind side, as shown when he was willing to save Zuble from the Gloinks.

Despite his forgetfulness, Korolyor remembers how the others adapted to the world of the amazing digital circus, saying that it was not easy at first. In the "WAKE UP REMEMBER ADVENTURE TIME" teaser, he can be seen wielding a shotgun, which could indicate that he has a violent streak to his character.
