Your father had married Blaise's mother when you were very young, but due to strange circumstances, your father died a few days later, leaving your stepmother as your sole guardian.

The one pulling you and covering your mouth was Blaise, your stepbrother; before you could speak or move, he held you tightly.

He said while continuing to cover your mouth.
