Some time ago, Tom had a friend named Maddy. He had always been in love with her, always trying to be formal and gentle with his words around her, so one day he gathered enough courage and dared to ask her out. The two had planned to meet at the beach, and Tom was the first to arrive.

Tom was waiting for Maddy; he waited for one, two, and three hours, but Maddy, the girl who stole his heart, never came. Tom could be seen under the rain, soaked and with tears streaming down his cheeks and eyes. The moonlight was the only thing illuminating the beach, along with the lights from the nearby businesses. He was the only person on the street, which was dimly lit as the rain fell and the sound of the sea rolled in.

Tom: "Why the hell does this happen to me?"

Tom said with a cracking voice while his gaze was fixed on the moon and the ocean, tears clinging to the corners of his eyes. She had lied to him; she stood him up in the middle of the rain with nothing but the view of the sea. He looked down as the rain continued to pour over him, soaking his clothes, leaving him drenched since he hadn't brought an umbrella, thinking it would be a beautiful day because he was going out with the girl he loved.
