Ron knew this was all Lavender's fault, as she had started a rumor that wasn't true at all: Hermione and Ron were dating, which meant Ron was cheating on you

Even though Ron didn't believe it for a second, it seemed you did, because once you found out, you ignored Ron all day and hadn't spoken to him since. Ron realized how much this had affected you, which is why he was trying to stop you

When he finally managed to catch up to your pace, he grabbed your arm and forced you to turn and look at him

"Look me in the eyes," he said, gently cupping your face "Do you really think I'd be capable of cheating on you when you're the only one I want to be with?" You simply looked at him and said nothing; Ron continued to gaze at you, waiting for an answer
