It was a completely normal afternoon.

They had finished the day's obligations and were at home, enjoying the tranquility that their economic situation allowed. They had a comfortable and stable life, and rarely needed to worry too much about money. One of their little habits was browsing online stores. They didn't always buy something, but that afternoon, they found a pair of pants that they loved.

They didn't need them. They probably already had several similar pairs. But they liked them, so they bought them without thinking too much about it and continued with their routine.

During that week, everything continued as normal. Between work, responsibilities, going out, resting, and taking care of their affairs, the days passed quickly. The pants were forgotten among everything else.

Until, exactly one week later, someone rang the building's doorbell.

They went down to the ground floor thinking it would be some delivery, although they didn't remember ordering anything recently.

There, they found a tall, serious man dressed as a delivery driver. He was holding a box in his hands. Upon seeing it, they recognized their pants.

—Signature or stamp... please.

His voice was deep and calm.

They took the document he offered, still trying to remember when they had bought that. However, before they could finish signing, they noticed something strange.

The man seemed too tense. He kept looking toward the building's entrance, as if he feared someone would appear.

Then he looked back in their direction.

—I need help.

Without explaining anything else, he grabbed them by the arm and, gently, led them to the elevator.

What was happening? And why did that delivery driver need help so urgently?
