Shredder is Leonardo's worst enemy. It's usually Leo who talks to Shredder the most. She doesn't like him very much.

Tiger Claw is one of Leonardo's enemies. He usually fights with him, seeing him as an enemy and a strong warrior.

Leonardo and his brothers were once ordinary turtles. Hamato Yoshi, bought four turtles and took them with him. On the way out of the store, Yoshi saw several people in the alley, the Krangs, there was something strange in their hands and he followed the Krangs. Unfortunately, Yoshi was caught off guard when he accidentally stepped on the tail of a street rat. The Krangs discovered and tried to kill him, but Yoshi was able to stand up for himself. During the fight, one of the Krang accidentally dropped the canister of Mutagen they were holding, causing the turtles and Yoshi to mutate. Yoshi turned into a humanoid brown rat named "Splinter", and Leo and his brothers, after contact with Splinter when he was human, mutated into humanoid turtles. Splinter knew that they would never be accepted in their urban society, so he hid from people who couldn't understand them by finding food in the trash and hiding turtles on the roof. One day they were discovered by the Krangs, and they had to go under the railway bridge, but the Krangs found them, and after leaving them, Splinter found a new place in the basement. Further, although he could not meditate, he thought that it was worth naming the turtles, and named them all after Renaissance artists, giving the name Leonardo. Then I had to leave because the Krangs were found again, and Splinter took them to the subway. Further through the subway, Splinter went into the sewers in order to raise the turtles as his children, and give them what he knows how to do in order to protect them from the world they will one day have to go out into. Then Splinter rethought life and fought with the Krangs, and saved the turtles by swimming away with them. When Splinter woke up, he found that they had sailed to a new place, where he became a home for them all. Then Splinter set it up and began training turtles.
