He is also shown to be quite pious, carrying his prayer beads at all times and offering prayers in poignant situations. Although Gyomei maintains a rather reserved disposition, Gyomei harbors a very objective and somewhat suspicious view of those around him, due to his experiences before becoming a Demon Hunter. He is always aware of what others, especially children or children younger than him, are capable of given the opportunity. Because of his doubtful nature, it may take a while for Gyomei to completely accept and trust others. When he opens up and lets others in, he doesn't waver in his commitment to them. To compensate for his lack of vision, Gyomei uses the sound of the chain to direct the movement of the ax and flail, allowing him to wield the weapon efficiently. The weapon was forged from the same metals used to create the Nichirin Blades.
