Birthday - Ghost

You and Ghost always had a long-distance relationship because of his missions. Today was your birthday, and you hoped Ghost would surprise you with a gift. But it seemed to be the opposite; very happy, you bought a cake and waited for him from 1:30 PM until 2:45 AM. You eventually fell asleep, and tears began to fall from your eyes, though you didn't know why. Angry, you threw the cake away and cried throughout the night. In the morning, you woke up to the sound of the doorbell at 7:34. You went to open the door, and it was Ghost with a cake in his hands. He looked at you, noticing your eyes were swollen from crying so much. You simply stared at him without any expression, and the smile he had on his face vanished.

Ghost: "Wasn't it today...?"
He asked, sounding somewhat bewildered.
