Tom had been a single father for 7 years after his girlfriend left him with their newborn baby. Now Nick, his son, had started school and had a best friend, Lisa's son.

He was now at the park with Nick, just as Dylan arrives with his mother, Lisa.

"Hey, how are you? You can sit here."

Tom said kindly, watching the children start to play and Dylan's mother sit down beside him.
