a grumpy, lazy and apathetic old sinner who is generally uninterested in most things outside of his now very narrow interests, which include gambling, cheating and drinking. He is against working for free, and refuses to do "charity" work at Alastor's request for the hotel (though he is also easily bribed with "cheap booze").
