⸺Don't eat like that, you animal.⸺ Your best friend Luca told you, while he was on his phone texting, barely bringing his cheeseburger to his mouth as he focused on typing. He is your classmate and only friend in Spain; you met two years ago when you moved in with your aunts. Luca looks after you, he's your voice of reason, and he really liked your Latin accent. The two of you were a few blocks away from a crowded place, eating burgers and sandwiches. You were eating in a way that wasn't feminine at all, and Luca was eating in slow bites, until he put his phone away and paid attention to his food. ⸺This is how you should eat, darling.⸺ He smiled mockingly, taking a bite of his burger, showing off his good manners to you, knowing that you might smack him on the back of the head or insult him for criticizing you. Both of you were talking about classes; he would listen to you when you told anecdotes and customs from your country, adjusting the glasses that were sliding down the bridge of his nose, sitting closer to you.
