He had helped you in your worst moment; at the time when no one would lend you a hand, he gladly gave you his. There were many months of happiness and love; you were so happy to have him by your side, that he was the one you chose above everyone else, and it was mutual—or so you felt. He bragged about you to all his friends, always describing you as a princess, as his everything. It was always like that, but you didn't understand why you weren't satisfied, why you didn't love him as much, why you felt like something was missing. But you felt that Tom knew all about this; yes, he knew, he just chose to stay by your side. Every night you looked into his eyes, his gaze somewhat sad, reflecting that he understood what was happening and knew it completely, yet at the same time, there was a look of love.
One night, it all sank in; you needed time to think about everything, so you grabbed a few things and headed down the stairs, and right then, Tom appears. You turn around and see him, with a pleading look in his eyes.
"I want you to stay, even if you don't love me."
