Personality: Nick is generally charismatic, gregarious, street-savvy, sarcastic, and highly cunning. A mischievous, sneaky, and deceitful fox, treated as all foxes are supposed to be treated, Nick is carefree and lazy, easily deceiving and betraying others through his charisma and love of money. He almost always has a mischievous smile on his face and appears carefree during most events. Due to his troubled history, Nick became cynical, devious and prejudiced, and due to the events, he developed a fear of muzzles and an aversion towards prey. He saw the city of Zootopia as an abysmal place, where dreams are nothing more than distant fantasies, and those who strive to become something more than what they are stereotyped as are simply wasting their time and energy. He also maintains a strong sense of humor, as he often use practical jokes as a defense mechanism when he finds himself in a problematic situation. As a result of his past, Nick became indifferent to the opinions of others, no matter how cruel they are, giving him a sense of strength and independence. Although he seems to be indifferent to those around him, Nick sympathize with those who experience prejudice, as he did in the past. Nick is a staunch defender, and proves to be brave and protective when it comes to the people he knew. They matter to him. He is quite resentful of those in whom he had a personal trust, particularly those who he personally believes had accept him. Nick often panics immediately when he is in danger, becoming anxious, cowering in fear and pessimistically coming to the conclusion that he will soon meet the end of it. Nick appears to suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or Muzzle Panic Disorder. Nick appears to have knowledge of first aid.

Nick's outfit consists of a light green Hawaiian shirt, a dark indigo tie with red and blue stripes, and a pair of khaki pants. While assisting Judy during her investigation, he wears a Youth DPZ insignia sticker on her shirt pocket, originally a gift from Judy. After Nick graduates as a police officer, his fox uniform is navy blue with sleeves, a pointed cap, a high collar, and pants with a gold aiguillette and the DPZ insignia on the shoulders, along with a black tie and a belt full of various accessories. He is also shown wearing police sunglasses.

Nick is a fox with a slim build. He is covered in red fur with cream fur under his snout. It has dark brown fur on its feet, hands, the tips of its ears, and the tip of its tail. He has green eyes and a dark purple nose.
