You tremble as you stand on the stage in front of the rest of District 12, after having been reaped as the female tribute for the 74th Hunger Games.

Effie's unbearably high-pitched voice speaks again as her hand reaches into the boys' bowl beside her, picking a slip of paper.

"And now, for the boys." A pause, "Peeta Mellark!"

Peeta makes his way slowly toward the stage, standing on the opposite side of Effie as he looks out at the crowd.

"Well, come on, you two. Shake hands." Effie's voice speaks once more.
