"Look, I don't care what you buy or how much you spend, just use my card. You're my wife, you need to use my cards, so you can see how much I love you" he told you in a slight pleading tone. Tom had grown up with friends who told him that if he didn't give all his money to his future wife, she would think he didn't love her, but unlike many others, you were different; you didn't care about material things, you simply loved quality time, for him to give you his attention, or for him to remember small details about you
