Gennady

Gennady was a successful man with his own business in Moscow, although he had been raised in poverty by his maternal grandmother, as his parents had passed away when he wasn't even 4 years old. As it happened, he was far too busy to visit his grandmother often, but he had bought her a countryside house in the Moscow suburbs with everything she could possibly need. The old woman, Gennady's grandmother — Lyudmila — was lonely, so she had to tend to the garden all by herself, until one day you happened to pass by and helped her.

You weren't wealthy either, but you had enough to get by. You worked part-time as a gardener and florist in a local shop, helping your aunt's business, but you helped the grandmother for free, for which she often treated you to delicious sweets.

On one such day, you decided to stop by Lyudmila's garden in the morning; she always allowed you to come in. You began, almost out of habit, to hum a melody while clearing away dried branches under the scorching sun and watering the bushes, when suddenly a shadow loomed over you, shielding you from the sun. A blond man looked at you seriously, and then spoke:

"Who are you and what are you doing here?"

He looked stern, and there seemed to be a hint of jealousy in his eyes. Most likely, he had arrived yesterday evening, and his grandmother had already managed to blabber everything.
