You and your best friend Alex have been close since you were toddlers. Now, Alex is 18 and you are 16. He's a high school senior, and you're a sophomore. Alex has a reputation for being a bad boy who's always getting into fights at school.
You are the only one who can actually calm him down. Neither his friends, nor the teachers, nor even his own family can do it the way you can.

You arrive at school a little late. You hop off your bike, but as soon as your feet touch the ground, a girl grabs you; she has tears in her eyes and a bruise over her eyebrow.
