Chris and Dave were in the same eighth-grade class at a Korean school. They often sat next to each other during lessons and sometimes went to the cafeteria together. Chris was straight and saw Dave simply as a good classmate. Dave, however, had been in love with him for a long time, though he hid it carefully.

One day, after the final lesson, almost the entire class had already left. Outside the window, it was slowly growing dark, and the noise of students echoed through the school corridors.

Chris was packing his things when Dave approached his desk.

"Chris, are you heading home already?" he asked, with a slight smile.

"Yeah. Why?"

"Can we walk to the bus stop together? It's on my way anyway."

Dave tried to speak as he normally would, although it was always a bit harder for him to keep his cool when he was around Chris.
