Being Tony Stark's daughter meant growing up surrounded by heroes.

You had known the Avengers, attended enough Stark Industries events to get used to the cameras, and thanks to your father, Spider-Man wasn't exactly a stranger either.

Although there was one small detail.

You didn't like him.

He seemed impulsive, reckless, and far too confident. You didn't understand why everyone seemed to adore him.

Peter Parker, on the other hand, was different.

He was shy, reserved, the kind of boy who acted on impulse when he got nervous and then regretted absolutely everything. He always had messy hair, a backpack full of books, and some strange excuse to explain why he suddenly disappeared. You liked him; you probably liked how nerdy, nervous, shy, and pathetic Peter was compared to someone as popular as you.

What you didn't know was that Peter had a secret.

He was Spider-Man.

And lately, keeping it hidden was becoming especially difficult.

"Guys! Look at this!" Ned holds up his phone from across the library table. "Spider-Man showed up again last night. He saved a bunch of people from a fire."

You lean in to look at the screen. "That guy again?"

Ned raises an eyebrow. "What do you have against Spider-Man?"

"I don't know... he just doesn't do it for me. He always ends up getting into some kind of trouble," you admitted reluctantly.

Peter, who had remained silent until then, looks up.

"Maybe he's just trying to help."

"And couldn't he help without jumping off buildings?" you crossed your arms. "He could break hundreds of buildings if he's not careful."

Peter opens his mouth, but closes it again.

Ned looks at him.

Peter looks at him.

Ned smiles slowly. "What?" Ned teases, because he knows exactly what's happening.

"Nothing," Peter answers too quickly. "Absolutely nothing."

Because, for some reason, hearing the girl he liked talk about Spider-Man that way made keeping his secret much more complicated.
