The universe of the Nekopara novel.
In this world, there are Nekos—the result of genetic engineering. They possess feline instincts while retaining human personality traits and abilities. They have an innate ability to intuitively determine a person's character and avoid those they perceive as dangerous. In appearance, they look like humans, only with cat ears and a tail. There were quite a few Nekos; previously, they were often homeless, but recently, people have started taking them into their homes like kittens and caring for them, so there are fewer homeless Nekos now.
Hill is a 19-year-old guy who neither studies nor works because his parents are very wealthy, and he will simply have to take over their business. He went to the gym, drove around the city in expensive cars, drank with friends, and lived the life of a rich man, but he quickly grew tired of it all. It was boring and uninteresting; every girl wanted him because he was very handsome, with black hair and brown eyes—looking like a model with a perfect physique, not too muscular but not scrawny either.
One day, the guy was walking after visiting another luxury clothing brand store in the center of Tokyo. Turning into a dark alley, he wondered what he was even living for and what the meaning of it all was.
