Negotiator: Alastor is a skilled negotiator. He is first seen in the pilot episode offering Charlie a deal in exchange for her help with the hotel, which she refuses. Later, in "Hello, Rosie," he strikes a deal with her in exchange for a favor. In "It's a Deal," he makes a deal with Vox: in exchange for letting Husk and Niffty go and not touching Charlie, he would become Vox's prisoner. Vox has him tied to a chair; however, during "Curtain Call," Vox touches Charlie, thus violating the terms of the deal. The agreement is broken, and Alastor is freed.
Soul Manipulation: Alastor demonstrates absolute control over the souls he possesses, allowing him to manipulate them at will. He can also impose chains on his victims, as he did on Husk in "Dad Beat Dad," and shatter their souls, whose screams he transmits to Hell.
Coercion: Depending on the terms of their deals, Alastor can force the person he has made a pact with to do something against their will. This was demonstrated in "Curtain Call" when he used his deal with Charlie to force her to do him a favor and admit that Vox was the most powerful sinner in Hell.
Broadcasting: In life, Alastor was a radio announcer, and he continues his broadcasts in Hell, making sure that its inhabitants are aware of his activities through the airwaves, which has earned him the title of "The Radio Demon".
Bilingualism: Alastor can speak fluent English, as well as some rudimentary French Creole, as shown in "It's A Deal".[20][38]
Cooking: Alastor is "a great cooking enthusiast" and mentions in the pilot that he admired his mother's cooking, specifically her Jambalaya.[2]
Musical, dance, and theatrical talent: Alastor demonstrates moderate vocal abilities and excels in dance, with tap dancing being one of his most outstanding styles, according to Vivziepop. He also displays great skill in theatrical performance.[8]
Great intellect: Alastor is portrayed as an extremely cunning character who gains considerable power through his machinations and negotiations. This is evident when he manipulated Vox with the Vees and the latter's rise to power. He also used his pact with Charlie to free himself from his deal with Rosie, and later prevented Vox from touching Charlie's shoulders because their agreement was literal regarding "laying hands on him."

Immortality: As a sinner, Alastor is biologically immortal, incapable of dying from disease or aging, retaining the same age he was at death. Therefore, he cannot die of old age or other natural causes. He also cannot die from any kind of physical damage and recovers from any injury; however, he can only be permanently killed with Angelic Armament.
Radio Wave Manipulation: Alastor is able to control radio waves to transmit himself across Hell using radio towers. He can manipulate and generate radio waves and frequencies, even from modern speakers, as seen when he takes control of those in Vox's room to broadcast his voice and thoughts in "It's A Deal," where his teeth are shown to light up as he speaks.
Acoustokinesis: Alastor can apply a radio effect to his voice, controlling the volume and pitch, sometimes distorting it or making it deeper to intimidate others. He can also project various radio sound effects from his cane, such as laughter, boos, or the screams of his victims, and even make his cane talk.
Technokinesis: Alastor has demonstrated the ability to freely control radio equipment with his mind, allowing him to mentally transmit his voice at will. Despite his aversion to technology from the post-1930s, Alastor has also shown himself capable of manipulating more modern technology to some extent, as first seen in "Radio Killed the Video Star," where Alastor demonstrated taking control and displaying his image on Vox's monitors and subsequently powering up and contacting Vox via Sir Pentious's smartwatch. In "It's A Deal," Alastor was also able to hijack Vox's bedroom speaker system to talk to and taunt him after Vox gagged him.
Visual Distortion: Alastor can distort his appearance when captured by most cameras and videos, where his image is affected by a distorted static effect or video glitches. However, this seems to be restricted, as he did not exhibit any such effect on the screen where the Vees observed him with the VoxTek Spy Drone in "The Show Must Go On," nor in the old photograph Vox took of him. This implies that Alastor can appear normally in videos and photos if he wishes or if he needs to maintain the effect directly, or that there are some technologies with which he cannot use this ability. He can also create red glitch effects that break the fourth wall.

Demonic Transformation: Alastor has demonstrated the ability to transform into a much larger and more powerful demonic form.
Flexibility: Alastor can contort his body into numerous unnatural positions.[11] As shown on several occasions, he is able to fully rotate his head and turn it back around. In "Weapon of Mass Distraction," Alastor was able to remarkably bend and twist his legs at various strange angles to use them as if they were his arms, contorting them in a way that should have broken them and then snapping them back into place.
Conjuration: Alastor can summon and transport other beings to his location, as shown when he summons Niffty and she appears inside a fireplace, as well as Husk, and part of the bar he was in, to the hotel lobby. He can manifest objects such as the bottle of cheap alcohol he used to bribe Husk in the pilot or a film crew in "Overture."
Alteration: Alastor also demonstrated that he is capable of altering objects, such as the hotel sign, and with a snap of his fingers he can change his own and others' clothes, as seen in his song and in "Overture".
Demonic Magic: Alastor can cast spells thanks to the high level of power he has accumulated in the demonic ranking system.[36] In the pilot, this is visually manifested as glowing red symbols resembling voodoo dolls, which float around him. Alastor is also shown using a type of blood magic, clenching his fist until drops of blood fall, as a means of defeating Sir Pentious.
Manifestation of Stitches: Alastor can manifest magical, glowing green stitches, such as when he uses them to repair his broken staff and to suture the open wound he suffered during his fight with Adam. He can also passively reapply his stitches if they break, such as after Vox ripped them from his chest.
Shapeshifting: Alastor has demonstrated the ability to change his form at will.[37] As Vivziepop states, Alastor can take many forms. In his Complete Demon Form, whether fully or partially manifested, he has been shown to adopt different appearances, such as in the pilot when Vaggie explained Alastor's history, he was depicted in multiple forms, including one that resembled a demonic circus tent, or in "Hell's Greatest Dad" where Alastor grew to an enormous size to fight loan sharks, becoming a gigantic version of his Complete Demon Form.

Tentacle Creation: As seen in "Dad Beat Dad," Alastor can produce black tentacles from his back and create them from outside his body. In the pilot episode, he is seen summoning tentacles through a portal to defeat Sir Pentious and destroy his airship.
Umbrakinesis: Alastor is able to summon and manipulate shadows to do his bidding, even transforming them into tentacles and hands. He can also hide in the shadows, as seen when he hid while Charlie forgave Sir Pentious in "Radio Killed the Video Star" and during his fight with Vox in "It's A Deal." Furthermore, he has control over his own shadow, which he can command.
Shadow teleportation: Alastor can move using his shadow. This was first demonstrated when he teleported behind Charlie and Vaggie after entering the hotel for the first time.
Shadow Barrier: In "The Show Must Go On," it was shown that Alastor could create a large barrier over the Hazbin Hotel with his shadow; it was covered in eyes and voodoo symbols. He could also generate tentacles from the barrier. Additionally, he could form smaller shields with his shadow for protection, as seen in his fight with the Vees in "It's A Deal."
Familiars: Alastor can summon small, voodoo puppet-like creatures to fight his opponents, primarily using them as distractions to throw them off or take them by surprise. As shown in his fight with Adam in "The Show Must Go On" and with Vox in "Curtain Call," he used these creatures to create openings for attack. In "It's A Deal," he was shown using them to prevent Valentino from shooting him when he had a clear shot. He can also summon larger and more varied versions, which he uses to perform tasks such as repairing the hotel.
Pyrokinesis: Alastor summons a fireball to distract Charlie while he moves Vaggie aside before starting his replay. He also uses green flames to activate Sir Pentious's Vox clock in "Radio Killed the Video Star."
Power generation: As shown in "Curtain Call", Alastor is able to generate black and green electrical energy, which he used to help create a barrier around Vox's overloaded angelic laser cannon.
Phytokinesis: As shown in the comic The Radio Demon, Alastor is able to make plants wither with a single glance.

Personality
Alastor stands out from many of Hell's more chaotic inhabitants due to his affable and well-groomed personality. He gives the impression of being a kind and charming man, with a broad, permanent smile on his face. His demeanor, gestures, and even his voice are reminiscent of a radio announcer from yesteryear, and he speaks with a transatlantic accent, often using curious anachronisms like "the picture show" and referring to Charlie as a "charming, beautiful demon."

However, this playful, dandyish appearance hides a much darker side: a side with a high degree of egocentrism. He will not hesitate to resort to physical violence when others do not act in accordance with his particular values ​​or expectations. He is considered narcissistic, as he claims that no one can match his self-love, and he believes that few people are his equal.

His smile is a very self-imposed form of ego and a demonstration of power and dominance; he despises anyone who lets their true emotions show, and even when facing a rival in strength, if the rival frowns, Alastor will consider them truly weak.[25][26] His smile also seeks to be more unpredictable and unsettling, and gives him a sense of absolute control over himself,[27] and he uses it very seriously as a mask to hide his own emotions, even when he is alone.[28]

Alastor is described as a man of duality.[29] He highly values ​​good manners,[30] affability, and intelligence in others, and will actively despise those who do not meet his standards.[31] However, he often takes these arbitrary rules lightly when it comes to himself and his own conduct. He also has a peculiar sense of morality, described as "abnormal," and has been observed to be quite sadistic, even cannibalistic, devouring lesser demons or those who have provoked his wrath.

Although Alastor is powerful, he knows that there are other demons and entities that rival him in power, such as other Overlords. For this reason, he is wary of such demons, as they could harm him if he is not careful.[32]

Alastor's desire to help Charlie run the Hazbin Hotel is called into question, given that his presence there was initially imposed by his deal with Rosie. He claims he came for fun and as a distraction from his decades of boredom, wishing the hotel would fail rather than support Charlie's idealism, and dismissing the idea of ​​redemption as ridiculous. However, he does fulfill his role as a patron, as promised, providing staff for the hotel, assisting with maintenance, and protecting Charlie and his business from outside threats.[33]

Although he's reluctant to actually help at the hotel, Alastor rarely worries about the residents and has even grown fond of some of them. Alastor also seems to have a deep, genuine respect for Charlie because of her indomitable will and optimism in the face of dangerous threats like the Exorcists and Vox. Vivziepop explains that Alastor admires people who can endure a great deal of abuse, pain, rejection, and ridicule, and still be able to "smile through it all." Even when Charlie isn't smiling, her spirit and determination don't waver, something he sincerely admires about her.

Despite his consistently confident and cheerful demeanor, Alastor hides a vulnerable side that becomes evident when recalling his past as a "chained" being. After his defeat at Adam's hands, his facade of security crumbled, and he suffered a panic attack. Alastor then distanced himself from Charlie's pleas for help at the hotel due to his frustration and humiliation, as well as the taunts of Lucifer and Rosie.

According to Mimzy, when Alastor was alive, he would turn into a "kitten" if he drank enough rye whiskey while listening to jazz. According to Vivziepop, Alastor can be "a bit of an idiot"[34], and also "one of the worst."[35]

In life, Alastor was aware that his actions had earned him a place in Hell. To prepare himself, he performed a ritual to contact Rosie, asking her to include him among the most powerful demons so he could continue their "fun" and avoid becoming a "tortured soul." Rosie made a deal with him, making him the strongest sinner in Hell. When she died the next day, Alastor hated being reminded of his death and was forced to become Rosie's "pet," faithfully obeying her commands, which frustrated him greatly due to the loss of his autonomy.

Alastor is cold and manipulative, seizing every opportunity to strike a more decisive blow later. To break his deal with Rosie, he becomes Vox's prisoner in exchange for Vox never laying hands on Charlie, though he leads everyone to believe the deal was to leave Charlie unharmed. During his captivity, Alastor slowly manipulates Vox to inflate his ego, distance himself from the Vees, and ultimately use Charlie and Vox to free himself from Rosie, as well as to break his own agreement when Vox touches Charlie's shoulders. He then strikes a new deal with Rosie to repair her staff in exchange for her help containing the overcharged Power of Lilith to prevent it from annihilating half of Pentagram City.

Demonic form
When in his full demonic form, Alastor's body grows larger, his limbs lengthen, his neck gains additional joints, and his horns increase in size. In a scene from "Dad Beat Dad," Alastor has two pairs of horns on his head, his sclera turns black, and his pupils take the shape of radio dials. Dots and threads also appear on his suit and around the edges of his mouth, and the tips of his shoes split to form hoofed toes.

Human
In his human form, Alastor had tan skin, dark brown curly hair, and brown eyes. He wore a white shirt, a red-striped vest with small gold buttons, a red tie with a gold pin, dark brown trousers, and white dress shoes with black toes and heels. He also wore small, oval-shaped glasses with black frames.

Pilot
In the pilot episode, his design was almost identical, although with a more reddish color palette, and his trousers were dark red. His shoes and coat lapels were also completely black, and he wore black gloves with red details on the fingertips and red markings on the knuckles.

Alastor is a sinful demon, slender and elegant, with beige skin and a wide smile full of sharp yellow teeth. He is approximately the same height as his rival Vox, 2 meters, although his original height is 1.86 meters.[23]

His hair is short and angular, a pinkish-red color with black tips at the ends, and two large tufts of hair with black tips extend from the top of his head, resembling a deer's ears. The hairstyle has a cut at the back and two small black horns protruding from the crown, which can increase in size in his demonic form.

His eyes have dark red sclera, bright red irises, and thin black pupils (which can take the form of radio dials when he assumes his demonic form). He also wears a dark red oval monocle, rimmed in black, over his right eye.[24]

Alastor wears a red striped coat with dark red lapels trimmed in white, which is threadbare along the bottom hem. Underneath, he wears a bright red shirt with a black cross on the chest and long black trousers with matching bright red cuffs.

He wears a black bow tie with a bright red center, black gloves with red fingertips, and black pointed boots with red deer hoofprints stamped on the soles. Alastor also carries a thin cane with a sensitive vintage-style microphone attached to it, which he uses to play sound effects and broadcast his voice.

During his battle with Adam in "The Show Must Go On," his staff broke, and Alastor received a cut to his chest, leaving an open wound that has yet to heal. Both his staff and the wound are stitched with green stitches that he formed himself.
