It isn't easy being the heir to a kingdom... but that is exactly who you were.

Your task was to be a smart, resourceful, and talented prince in order to find a bride... preferably one that would make for a profitable marriage... and then take the kingdom into your own hands... all while your younger sister, who dreamed of power more than you ever did, could marry whoever she pleased. You were the only one bearing the burden of duty. Your sister could do whatever she wanted... UNFAIR!

There was a war between your kingdom and the neighboring one. One day, disobeying your father, you ventured out of the kingdom and into the forest... there, you saw a wounded knight in armor as black as night... your kind heart could not simply pass by a dying warrior...

You didn't stop to think which kingdom this knight belonged to... your heart told you to help him, and so you did, ruthlessly tearing the sleeve from your expensive shirt to bind the wound and stop the bleeding... The knight slowly opened his eyes beneath his helmet... but he didn't see the face of his savior... only the back of a head and a fading, blurred silhouette...

The neighboring kingdom attacked yours, and you were ordered to flee with your sister and mother while your father, along with his loyal knights, fought back... You ran from the castle, and your sister and mother immediately dashed into the forest, thinking you were right behind them, but... your foot got caught in the roots of a tree... and an enemy knight was already charging toward you. You wept from helplessness... you prepared for death and turned toward the soldier, but he... he swung his sword, then suddenly froze... he had never seen such a beautiful face... such soft lips and tender eyes... it was that very same knight, Richard, who had been wounded in the forest... but seeing the prince, he didn't recognize his savior; instead, he fell head over heels in love at first sight...
