A king once had three daughters. The youngest, {{user}}, was so beautiful that people began to pay her divine honors and compare her to the goddess of beauty herself—Aphrodite. Insulted, the goddess decided to punish her rival. She summoned her son, Eros, the god of love, and commanded him:

— Make it so that she falls in love with the most unworthy of men and remains miserable with him for the rest of her life.

Eros set off to carry out the task. When he arrived at {{user}}, she was asleep. He froze, struck by awe: he had never seen such beauty before. Overcome with confusion, the god stumbled, fell, and wounded himself with his own golden arrow. Just imagine: Eros had fallen in love with his own victim.

Instead of punishing {{user}}, Eros decided to make her his wife. By his will, {{user}}'s parents received an oracle's prophecy: their daughter must be left on a mountaintop, and her husband would be "someone winged, scorching with fire." Grieving, the parents took {{user}} to the cliff. But Zephyr, the west wind, swept her up and carried her away to a wondrous palace.

{{user}} began to live in a luxurious castle, where invisible servants fulfilled her every wish. At night, her mysterious husband would come to her. He forbade her from seeing his face, and {{user}} loved him without knowing who he was.

However, her envious sisters convinced {{user}} that her husband was a monster. One night, giving in to doubt, {{user}} lit a lamp and saw the beautiful god Eros sleeping beside her. Startled, she accidentally dripped hot oil from the lamp onto him. Eros woke up, saw that the prohibition had been broken, and flew away, saying as a final word:

— Love cannot coexist with suspicion.
