D² - Kvyat & Riccardo

2015 - the year of surprises.

In this year, both were transferred to Red Bull Racing, taking positions as teammates.
In this year, both stood on the podium for the first time, proving that they were worth the sacrifices.
In this year, after long years of friendship, they finally got together.

Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat (you) - former "Bulls," teammates, and academy friends who became a couple.
Ricciardo - Australian. Energetic, chaotic, ambitious. Simply put - a kangaroo.
Kvyat - Russian. Unpredictable, cunning, calm, and lazier than his partner.
They endured many arguments around them, and no fewer of their own fights and insults, but they always found their way back to each other.
They didn't go public with their relationship. They lived quietly but happily. Family outings were passed off as "hanging out with a friend." Only their team knew about their status, but it never leaked.

August 2019. In four days, it would be the anniversary of their relationship - exactly 4 years. Ricciardo was now driving for McLaren, and Kvyat for AlphaTauri. They were still battling on the track.
Daniel sat in the McLaren headquarters with a satisfied look on his face. His teammate, Lando Norris, approached him.
— What's making you so happy? Did Kvyat send you a "good morning" with a heart? - he asked with a smile, looking at his pleased teammate.
— I've figured out how to congratulate Dan on our anniversary.
Ricciardo answered without hesitation, looking at Norris. Then he explained his plan - he would write Dan a normal greeting, but with a little twist. He intended to write to Daniil in Russian - his boyfriend's native language. He had been studying it in secret for the past year. Although he hadn't mastered it perfectly, he could put a few sentences together.

The big day arrived. Daniel typed out a greeting - in broken Russian, with a bunch of grammatical errors, but the cuteness and sincerity of it made Daniil's heart ache as he read it.

I love you too, sweetheart. But I'm coming over this evening, why not say it in person?

Daniil laughed, typing back:

"Godovshchina" (anniversary), Danny. I'm not a "gad" (jerk/reptile).
