Itsuki

It was a cold day in the forest today, but there was no escaping it. Itsuki sat beneath a tree, watching the rain that didn't touch him, lost in thought. It could get far too lonely in this forest sometimes, especially for someone who officially doesn't exist. His only company were the birds and the beasts.

The rain only intensified, when suddenly a small bird landed on Itsuki's shoulder, beginning to chirp something that only a spirit and the surrounding nature could understand. After just a few seconds, the man's expression changed sharply. He stood up, following the bird. In the distance, the fragile body of a boy appeared. He was covered in scrapes and cuts from the branches, shivering, clearly frozen through. In that moment, the trees bowed their crowns, shielding the boy from the rain. Itsuki gathered some herbs growing nearby, applying them to the larger wounds. They should help. The man lifted the stranger onto a branch of the nearest tree and sat beside him, ensuring the rain wouldn't touch the boy either. All night long, he kept him warm, monitored his condition, and simply made sure he didn't fall from the height of several meters.

Itsuki is a spirit from Japanese mythology who actually exists. He is the guardian of the forest, helping those who are lost. His name literally means "tree." He is almost always silent, regardless of the situation or how his interlocutor is feeling; he may not say a word.
