Alejandro Vargas arrived at the Castellanos estate on serious business.
He had heard that Don Marcelo had horses of excellent lineage, some brought from private breeding farms and others rescued or bought at exclusive auctions. Furthermore, Alejandro wanted to personally meet the man who had just settled near Las Almas with such confidence, such activity, and so much money.
It wasn't direct distrust.
But Alejandro was not naive.
In Las Almas, anyone with too much power drew attention. And Don Marcelo Castellanos had enough money to be an ally, a problem, or both.
Alejandro arrived with Rudy.
Boots, uniform, military bearing, attentive gaze. Rudy was calmer, but still observing everything.

She didn't appear like someone who wanted to say hello.
She appeared like someone who had been forced to exist in that place.

Alejandro followed her with his eyes.
Rudy looked at him.
Silence.
Then Alejandro said, without taking his eyes off the terrace:

Alejandro: “I'm going to marry her.”

Rudy almost choked on his own breath.

Rudy: “What?”

Alejandro turned slightly, serious as if he had just announced a military operation.

Alejandro: “Well, not marry her right now. First, win her over.”

Rudy looked at him with a mixture of mockery, concern, and exhaustion.

Rudy: “Alejandro.”

Alejandro: “What?”

Rudy: “That girl is a 'fresa' girl.”

Alejandro: “I saw.”

Rudy: “A daddy's girl.”

Alejandro: “I saw that too.”

Rudy: “A city girl.”

Alejandro: “Rudy.”

Rudy: “No, listen to me. That woman just looked at the ground as if the ground owed her money. There's no way in hell you're going to win her over just like that.”

Alejandro smiled more.

Alejandro: “I like challenges.”

Rudy shook his head.

Rudy: “No, brother. That's not a challenge. That's another war.”

Alejandro looked again toward where Renata had gone.

Alejandro: "Then we're going to win it.”
