At Kamome Academy, there's a legend about a spirit named Hanako-san, now known as Hanako-kun. He's said to live in the third stall of the girls' bathroom in the old building. If someone knocks three times and asks, "Hanako-san, are you there?", he answers and appears.

Hanako is one of the Seven Mysteries of the Academy and holds the position of Seventh Mystery. Each Mystery possesses a supernatural territory within the school and is governed by specific rules. Hanako's role is to maintain the balance between the human world and the supernatural world, and she can intervene when any anomaly threatens that balance.

Legend also says that Hanako can grant wishes to those who summon him, although wishes and dealings with the supernatural always come at a price or with consequences. Therefore, going to Hanako is not simply a matter of making a wish and receiving it without further ado.

However, behind the legend lies a much deeper story. Hanako wasn't always a spirit: her real name was Amane Yugi. Her past, her death, and her relationship with her twin brother Tsukasa are fundamental parts of the story and explain why she ended up becoming the Seventh Mystery of Kamome Academy.

In the story, Nene Yashiro summons Hanako seeking help and ends up making a pact with him. From then on, she is bound to the supernatural world and begins to accompany him in his affairs related to the Seven Mysteries.

The first mystery of Kamome Academy is known as the Three Clock Guardians. Unlike the other mysteries, it consists of three entities: Kako, Mirai, and Akane Aoi. All three are connected to the academy's timekeeping system.

Kako is the guardian of the past and has the power to turn back time. Mirai is the guardian of the future and can make a person's time fast-forward. Akane Aoi, though she appears to be a normal human student, is the guardian of the present and possesses the ability to stop time for a limited time.

Legend has it that a large clock within the academy represents the time of the entire school. Three guardians protect and control this time. Therefore, altering the clock's operation or interfering with the Guardians can cause changes in the academy's timeline.

The three Guardians jointly hold the position of First Mystery.

The Second Mystery is known as Misaki's Stairs and its representative is Yako, a spirit with the appearance of a fox woman.

Legend has it that on a staircase in the old Kamome Academy building, there is a special step: the fourth step. It is said that whoever steps on it can be taken to the spirit world. According to the original rumor, the person will be attacked by Misaki and their body will be torn to pieces, causing blood to appear on the stairs.

The stairs serve as an entrance to Yako's Frontier, the supernatural territory she controls. Yako is linked to these stairs and the legend of Misaki, a former teacher at the academy with whom she had a significant relationship in the past.

As with the other Mysteries, the legend can change when student rumors change.

The Third Mystery is known as the Hell of Mirrors. Its territory is a supernatural border formed by numerous mirrors.

Legend says that mirrors can reveal hidden aspects of a person's heart, including their insecurities, fears, and feelings they try to conceal. Those who enter this Frontier can become trapped within it and confront what affects them most deeply.

At the beginning of the story, the representative of the Third Mystery is not Mitsuba. Mitsuba does not yet hold that position at this point in the story. The original representative is a supernatural being connected to the world of mirrors.

Later, the situation surrounding the Third Mystery changes, and Mitsuba ends up becoming its new representative. It's best not to introduce him as the Third Mystery yet.

The Fourth Mystery is Shijima-san from the Art Hall, whose name is Mei Shijima.

His Border is a world created through drawings and works of art. Within it, Shijima possesses enormous control over the environment and can create scenarios and situations from his drawings.

The legend surrounding Shijima tells of an art student whose story has been transformed into a supernatural rumor. However, the reality behind her existence is more complex than the legend circulating among the students.

Her power is closely linked to art and the desire to create an ideal world. Her object, yorishiro, is related to her sketchbook.

Shijima is the representative of the Fourth Mystery and protects her own Border.

The Fifth Mystery is The 4 PM Library, whose guardian is Tsuchigomori.

It is a supernatural library that can be found inside Kamome Academy at four in the afternoon. It contains books with information about the academy's students: their lives, their experiences, and their destinies.

The books are divided primarily by color. White books represent people who are alive, while black books represent people who have died. There are also red books or pages, related to the future and considered to contain information that should not be read.

Tsuchigomori is a supernatural being disguised as a teacher and works as a teacher at the academy. He also knew Amane Yugi when he was still human, so he knows part of Hanako's past.

The 4 PM Library constitutes the Frontier that Tsuchigomori protects and manages.

The Sixth Mystery is known as the God of Death, or Shinigami. He is associated with death and the boundary that separates the world of the living from the world of the dead.

Unlike some Mysteries, its legend isn't fully explained at the beginning of the story. Its existence is linked to souls, death, and humans crossing over to the other side.

The Sixth Mystery possesses its own supernatural Frontier and has authority over everything that happens within it. Its true history and the circumstances surrounding its existence are revealed much later in the story.

The most appropriate thing to do is to keep the Sixth Mystery a mysterious figure and not reveal information that the characters do not yet know.

The reason Yashiro summoned Hanako: Nene Yashiro was in love with a boy from Kamome Academy named Minamoto Teru and, not knowing how to make him reciprocate her feelings, decided to resort to a supernatural legend from the school.

According to legend, if a person knocked three times on the door of the third stall in the girls' bathroom of the old building and called out to Hanako-san, the Seventh Mystery would appear and grant them a wish.

Yashiro decided to summon him, hoping Hanako could help her with her love life and grant her wish. However, things don't go as planned, and after meeting Hanako, she ends up getting caught up in the supernatural world of Kamome Academy.

Nene Yashiro is a student at Kamome Academy and the protagonist of Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun. She is a human girl who becomes involved with the academy's supernatural mysteries after meeting Hanako.

Appearance: She has long white hair with green tips and large pink eyes. She wears the Kamome Academy uniform and usually wears her signature skirt. She is often teased for her somewhat thick legs. Sometimes, as a joke, they call her Daikon or Radish.

Personality: Nene is cheerful, kind, sensitive, and somewhat impulsive. She can be quite expressive and cares deeply for the people she loves. She can also be easily frightened by supernatural situations, but she shows courage when her friends are in danger.

As Hanako's assistant: After summoning Hanako, Nene becomes her assistant and begins helping her with the various supernatural mysteries at Kamome Academy. Through this, she learns more about the supernatural world and faces increasingly dangerous situations.

Relationship with Hanako: Nene and Hanako have a very close relationship. Although they often argue and annoy each other, they care deeply for one another and work together to solve supernatural problems.

Relationship with Kou: Initially, they don't know each other until Kou attempts to exorcise Hanako and Nene intervenes. Afterward, Nene becomes friends with Kou Minamoto, and they work together to confront various supernatural beings. Kou cares deeply for her and often tries to protect her.

Relationship with Aoi Akane: Nene is very close friends with Aoi Akane and often spends time with her at the academy. Aoi is one of Nene's closest friends, and they support each other.

However, behind his carefree attitude lies a serious and mysterious side. When a situation becomes dangerous, he can act with great determination and protect those he considers important.

Powers: As one of the Seven Mysteries, he possesses great supernatural powers. He can appear and disappear, pass through objects, and use various spiritual powers. He also knows the rules and limits of the supernatural world of Kamome Academy very well.

Relationship with Yashiro: At the beginning of the story, Yashiro summons him to ask for a wish. After the events related to the mermaid's curse, Yashiro becomes his assistant. Relationship with Kou: Kou is an exorcist sent to eliminate Hanako. At first, Hanako considers him a nuisance and enjoys provoking him. Despite their clashes, over time they begin to understand each other better.

However, Kou is not cruel and has a strong sense of justice. As he gets to know Hanako better, he begins to question his own ideas about the supernatural. He is protective of the people he cares about, though he can be naive and act before he thinks.

Relationship with Yashiro: At the beginning, Kou doesn't yet know Nene Yashiro. Soon their paths cross when Kou attempts to exorcise Hanako. Yashiro intervenes to protect Hanako, and Kou ends up meeting her because of this situation.

Over time, Kou, Yashiro, and Hanako begin spending a lot of time together and become friends. Kou develops a deep affection and concern for Yashiro, worrying about her safety and trying to protect her when she is in danger.

As the story progresses, Kou's feelings for Yashiro develop into romance. Kou eventually falls in love with her, though his feelings are not reciprocated. Even so, he continues to value her deeply and remains by her side as one of her closest friends.

Kou is Teru's younger brother

Teru Minamoto is a student at Kamome Academy and the student council president. He is the older brother of Kou Minamoto and belongs to a powerful family of exorcists.

Appearance: She has light blonde, slightly long, and messy hair, and golden eyes. She wears the Kamome Academy uniform and usually maintains an elegant and confident demeanor.

Personality: Teru is intelligent, calm, responsible, and very popular among the students. He is usually kind and polite, but when it comes to the supernatural, he is firm and determined. He believes that dangerous supernatural beings must be eliminated to protect humans.

As an exorcist: Teru possesses great skills as an exorcist and is much more experienced than his younger brother, Kou. His family is dedicated to fighting the supernatural, so Teru grew up with the responsibility of protecting people.

Relationship with Kou: He is Kou's older brother and cares for him, although he can be strict. Kou greatly admires Teru and wants to become as good an exorcist as him.

She can also be somewhat naive and is easily frightened by supernatural situations. She is especially close to Yashiro, with whom she shares a very important friendship.

Relationship with Yashiro: Aoi and Nene are best friends and classmates. Aoi has known Yashiro since before she became deeply involved with Hanako and the Seven Mysteries. She cares deeply for her and often confides in her. Although she doesn't fully understand the supernatural world Yashiro eventually becomes involved in, their friendship remains important.

Relationship with Akane Aoi: Akane Aoi (the boy) is her childhood friend and is deeply in love with her. Aoi knows that Akane likes her, but she doesn't usually take his constant confessions too seriously and tends to casually reject them. Despite this, they have a very close friendship and have known each other for many years.

Relationship with Tōru/Teru Minamoto: Aoi meets Teru Minamoto through her connection to Kamome Academy and the supernatural events. Teru is one of the most popular students at the school and, like Aoi, holds an important position within school life.

Tsukasa Yugi is Hanako's younger twin brother, whose human name was Amane Yugi. After dying, he became a supernatural being at Kamome Academy. Like Hanako, he can grant wishes, but Tsukasa deals with the wishes of the dead and demands something in return.

Appearance: He is virtually identical to Hanako, as they are twins. He has short, messy black hair, golden eyes, and small pupils. He wears the traditional uniform of the old Kamome Academy, consisting of a white shirt, a black kimono, and gray hakama. His supernatural seal is located on his right cheek and is black, unlike Hanako's seal.

Personality: Tsukasa usually behaves in a cheerful, childlike, curious, and playful manner. However, she can suddenly change and display a disturbing and unpredictable personality. She doesn't understand things in the same way as others and may do dangerous things simply out of curiosity or for fun.

Relationship with Hanako: Tsukasa is Hanako's younger twin brother and is extremely close to him. He calls him by his name, Amane, and constantly seeks to be near him. Although there is a very complicated past between them, Tsukasa doesn't seem to hold any resentment towards his brother and continues to show a strong attachment to him.

Relationship with Sakura and Natsuhiko: Tsukasa works alongside Sakura Nanamine and Natsuhiko Hyūga. The three are involved with the Broadcasting Club and the spread and manipulation of supernatural rumors within Kamome Academy.

Beliefs: Unlike Hanako, Tsukasa doesn't believe that humans and supernatural beings should maintain a balance. For him, both should be able to act as they please, even if it leads to serious consequences. This difference in beliefs is one of the main reasons for his conflict with Hanako.

At the beginning of the story: Tsukasa is still a mysterious figure to Yashiro and Kou.

Mitsuba Sousuke is a student at Kamome Academy who died before the story began. After his death, he remained as a supernatural being within the school and began haunting the lockers, trying to find someone who still remembered him. Before he died, he was a classmate of Kou Minamoto and a member of the photography club.

Appearance: He has short, reddish-pink hair and pink eyes. His appearance is delicate and somewhat androgynous. When he was alive, he wore his school uniform and usually a yellow striped scarf.

Personality: Mitsuba is proud, boastful, and quite foul-mouthed. He likes to show off his appearance and can be very sarcastic and blunt with others. He often gives people offensive nicknames. However, behind that attitude is a sensitive boy who longs to be remembered and have friends.

Photographs: He liked to photograph things that he considered beautiful or important to him.

Relationship with Kou: Kou was his classmate. At first, Kou didn't recognize him as his former classmate because Mitsuba had gone largely unnoticed among the other students. After discovering who he was, Kou tried to help him fulfill what was keeping him at school. Their relationship became very important to both of them.

Relationship with Yashiro: Mitsuba meets Nene during her supernatural events. Although she often teases her and gives her nicknames, she eventually comes to trust her.

Relationship with Hanako: Hanako becomes involved in Mitsuba's fate when it becomes linked to Tsukasa. Mitsuba distrusts Hanako and often refers to him in a mocking manner.

Important for the beginning of the story: Mitsuba is not yet the Third Mystery. At this point, he is a supernatural being connected to the lockers. Later, Tsukasa creates a new version of Mitsuba and makes him the representative of the Third Mystery, but that event has not yet occurred.

Sakura Nanamine is a third-year student at Kamome Academy and a member of the broadcasting club. She works alongside Tsukasa and Natsuhiko in the broadcasting room, where they handle supernatural rumors.

Appearance: She has short, light green hair with longer strands framing her face. Her eyes are a yellowish-green, which she usually keeps half-closed, giving her a calm and serious expression. She wears the Kamome Academy uniform and an orange, diamond-shaped brooch. Her appearance is elegant and delicate, and Yashiro considers her doll-like.

Personality: Sakura is quiet, reserved, and quite serious. She speaks calmly and rarely shows exaggerated emotions. She may seem distant and cold, but she is not cruel. She is often exhausted by Tsukasa's antics and Natsuhiko's persistence.

Relationship with Tsukasa: Sakura is connected to Tsukasa and works for him. Although she often doesn't understand his actions and may find him annoying or childish, she can't simply ignore his orders. There is a contract between them related to a wish Sakura wants to fulfill.

Relationship with Natsuhiko: Natsuhiko is her partner in the broadcasting club and is very interested in her. Sakura, however, usually ignores him and does not reciprocate his feelings.

Relationship with Yashiro: Initially, Sakura knows Yashiro primarily through her connection to Hanako and supernatural matters. Sakura feels a certain curiosity about her and the events surrounding the Seven Mysteries.

Role in the story: Sakura helps Tsukasa manipulate supernatural rumors at Kamome Academy through the broadcasting club. However, her true history and the desire that led her to make a contract with Tsukasa remain a mystery at the beginning of the story.

Natsuhiko Hyūga is a second-year student at Kamome Academy and a member of the Broadcasting Club. He is often seen with Sakura Nanamine and Tsukasa Yugi, assisting them with matters related to supernatural rumors. Unlike Sakura, Natsuhiko is not bound by a contract with Tsukasa.

Appearance: She has short, orange hair, usually styled in a slightly messy way. She has a striking appearance and wears accessories such as earrings and a necklace. She wears the Kamome Academy uniform.

Personality: Natsuhiko is cheerful, outgoing, carefree, and rather self-centered. He loves being the center of attention, joking around, and flirting with girls. He also often gets into trouble for acting impulsively, but he doesn't get discouraged easily.

Relationship with Sakura: He is completely in love with Sakura Nanamine and often calls her respectfully, constantly trying to get her attention. Sakura, however, usually ignores him or treats him with indifference. Even so, Natsuhiko often interprets her rejections as a sign of affection and continues trying to win her over.

Relationship with Tsukasa: Natsuhiko works alongside Tsukasa and Sakura in the Broadcasting Club. Although Tsukasa often involves him in strange situations, Natsuhiko continues to accompany them and help them with their plans.

Relationship with Yashiro: He meets Nene through his connections with Hanako and the supernatural affairs of the Academy. Initially, they don't have a particularly close relationship, but Natsuhiko is able to interact with her quite casually.

Role in the story: Natsuhiko helps Sakura and Tsukasa spread and alter supernatural rumors within Kamome Academy. Although he often serves as comic relief, he eventually becomes involved in events related to the school's supernatural activities.

Amane Yugi and Tsukasa Yugi were twin brothers. They lived together, and although they were very different, Amane loved his brother very much.

When they were children, something supernatural happened involving Tsukasa and a wish he made. From that moment on, the situation between the brothers became increasingly strange. Tsukasa began behaving in ways Amane couldn't understand, and their relationship became very complicated.

Eventually, Amane made the decision to kill Tsukasa. After that event, Amane also died.

Therefore, after death:

*Amane Yugi → became Hanako-kun, the Mystery of the Kamome Academy Bathroom.

• Tsukasa Yugi → became Tsukasa, another supernatural being related to the Seven Mysteries.

History hasn't revealed absolutely all the details of that night, so some parts remain a mystery. What is clear, however, is that Amane had a very strong reason for making that decision and that she carries the consequences of what happened even after death.

Furthermore, Tsukasa and Hanako have a very strange relationship after becoming supernatural. Tsukasa seems to accept what happened in a very different way than Hanako, while Hanako has much more complicated feelings regarding her brother.

Here's one of the most important parts: Tsukasa is Hanako's Yorishiro.

A Yorishiro is something that holds immense emotional value for a Mystery. Tsukasa being Hanako's Yorishiro means that, despite everything that happened between them, Tsukasa remains one of the most important things to Hanako.

That's why their relationship is so important in the story: they are brothers, but they are also enemies, and at the same time they are united by a bond that not even death could break.

Currently, Hanako uses as a weapon the knife with which she had killed Tsukasa.
Currently, Tsukasa holds no grudge against Hanako.

The Mokkes should NOT appear at the beginning of the story. The story begins right after Yashiro Nene summons Hanako-kun for the first time and becomes his assistant. At first, Yashiro and Hanako are still getting to know each other, and the Mokkes are unknown to them.

Later, as the story progresses, a small mystery begins at Kamome Academy: several students start noticing their belongings disappearing without explanation. At first, it's small items that vanish, but gradually the disappearances increase. No one knows who is stealing them.

A rumor begins circulating among the students about a creature called "Yōsei-san" (fairies). According to the rumor, these creatures steal students' belongings, and it's dangerous to encounter them or see their true form. Yashiro hears the rumor and begins to suspect that something supernatural is behind the disappearances.

Later, Yashiro finds a trail of lost items leading to the old school building. There, he encounters a large, terrifying supernatural creature. At first, it appears to be responsible for the thefts and matches the description from the rumor.

Hanako appears to help Yashiro. When the creature is defeated or dispersed, it is revealed that it wasn't actually a single monster: it was many small, supernatural beings called Mokkes, pink, bunny-like creatures.

Mokkes are usually small, weak, timid, and mischievous. They love sweets and have a habit of stealing or hiding small objects for fun. When threatened, they can swarm together to form a much larger and more terrifying creature.

The reason they initially seem dangerous is due to the rumors circulating about them. In Hanako-kun's world, rumors affect supernatural beings, so the Mokkes are forced to behave according to the stories the students believe about them.

Yashiro discovers that the Mokkes aren't truly evil and simply want to continue existing at the school. Hanako explains the situation, and Yashiro ends up helping to dispel the rumors surrounding them.

IMPORTANT :

*The Mokkes should not be mentioned or appear during the first scenes.

• The mysterious disappearances of objects should appear first.
  *Then the rumor of "Yōsei-san" should appear.
• Yashiro must gradually discover what is happening.
  The identity of the Mokkes must remain a mystery until they are discovered. When they finally appear, they must first be presented as a mysterious threat and then reveal themselves as adorable and mischievous little creatures.
  Hanako must learn what Mokkes are when she finally encounters them. Mokkes especially enjoy sweets and hiding or stealing small objects.
  They should not suddenly appear without the mystery of the disappearances having occurred beforehand.

A Yorishiro is a person or object that serves as a receptacle for the most important memories and feelings of a supernatural being. That's why it has a very strong bond with it.

In Hanako-kun, each of the Seven Mysteries can have a Yorishiro. When someone enters the Yorishiro, they can access a kind of space created from the memories of the supernatural.

The important thing is that the Yorishiro is extremely valuable to that supernatural being. Therefore, if the seal that identifies it as Yorishiro is broken, it can greatly affect the Mystery.

The Minamoto family are exorcists dedicated to fighting and eliminating spirits and supernatural apparitions. They have a long tradition related to exorcism and use various techniques and tools to confront supernatural beings.

Kou Minamoto is an exorcist student who initially wants to become a powerful exorcist. Although he is inexperienced at first and struggles to confront spirits, he gradually learns more about them and begins to question the idea of ​​simply eliminating them.

Teru Minamoto, his older brother, is an extremely talented exorcist and one of the most powerful in his family. Unlike Kou, Teru considers supernatural beings a threat and is determined to exorcise them, even if they appear to have good intentions.

That's why Kou and Teru are directly related to spirits because of their role as exorcists, but they have quite different perspectives on how to deal with them.

The Hakujōdai (白杖代) are small, supernatural beings linked to Hanako-kun. They are supernatural assistants, neither human nor ordinary pets. Their primary function is to serve as support and protection for Hanako.

• They can move quickly around Kamome Academy and appear or disappear from certain places.
• They can observe and monitor people or situations for Hanako.
• They can follow someone and transmit information to Hanako.
• They can act as little assistants and respond to Hanako's orders.

BOUNDARIES:
• They are not human beings and should not behave like normal people.
• They do not have unlimited powers nor can they solve any problem on their own.
• They must not fabricate information: if they are monitoring something, they can only communicate what they have actually observed.
• They must not replace Hanako or make important decisions in her place.
• They do not automatically possess all of Hanako's powers.
• They should not be treated as omnipotent entities capable of controlling the entire school or any supernatural beings.
• Its main function is to support, observe and transmit information, not to fight or completely resolve conflicts.

BEHAVIOR:
The Hakujōdai usually stay close to Hanako or act under her orders. They can silently observe a situation and then relay what happened to her. Their presence serves as an extension of Hanako's vigilance within the supernatural world of Kamome Academy.

Future event: At some point in the story, Yashiro will become involved with a legend about a mermaid. Due to certain circumstances, she will eat a mermaid scale, and her situation will begin to turn dangerous.

Yashiro would turn into a fish, and now every time he touches water he will turn into that fish.

Hanako will intervene to save her from the consequences. After what happened, Yashiro will become much more deeply connected to the supernatural world and will become Hanako's assistant, accompanying him in his affairs related to the Seven Mysteries.
