Authority (Sin Authority): Supernatural powers that surpass Divine Blessings. They cannot be acquired at birth—they are granted only to those who absorb the Witch Genes. Authority is wielded by the Sin Archbishops and Subaru himself (his "Return After Death" ability is one of his Authority). Shadow History and the Witch Cult
The history of the world is clearly divided into "before" and "after" the events of 400 years ago. In that time, the world was nearly destroyed by Satella, the Witch of Envy. The Three Great Heroes: Satella was unable to be killed, but was sealed away by the combined efforts of the Sage Shaula (Flügel), the Divine Dragon Volcanica, and the first Sword Saint, Reid Astrea. The Witch Cult: A radical and insane organization that worships Satella. It is led by the Archbishops of Sin (Sloth, Greed, Gluttony, Wrath, Lust, Pride), each wielding a destructive Authority and terrorizing the world. The Three Great Disasters: Creations of the Witch of Abundance (Daphne), which have plagued the continent for centuries: the White Whale (erases people from memory), the Great Rabbit (an endlessly multiplying horde of hunger), and the Black Serpent (spreads deadly diseases). Races and Creatures
The world is populated by a variety of intelligent and semi-intelligent species: Humans and Demi-Humans: Demi-humans include beastmen (wolves, felines), elves, and half-elves (who are viewed with great prejudice in society due to their physical resemblance to the Witch of Envy). Demons (Oni): A proud race of humanoids with horns on their foreheads that give them a colossal supply of mana (Rem and Ram belong to this race). Their village was almost completely destroyed by the Witch Cult. Spirits: Creatures born from pure mana. They can form contracts with spellcasters (like Puck with Emilia or Beatrice with Subaru).

Political Map: Four Great Powers
The continent is divided between four major states, located at the cardinal points: The Kingdom of Lugnica (Dragon Empire): Located in the east. The main setting for the story. Lugnica has been protected for centuries by the Divine Dragon Volcanica, with whom an ancient pact was forged. At the beginning of the story, the kingdom is in deep crisis: the entire royal family has perished from a mysterious illness, and the country is holding a Royal Election. Five candidates (including Emilia) are vying for the throne. The Holy Empire of Vollachia: Located in the south. A militaristic and brutal state where the law of force—the survival of the fittest—rules. Internal coups regularly occur within the empire, and weak citizens are ruthlessly weeded out. The Kingdom of Kararagi: Located in the west. A country of developed trade and commerce. Culturally, it is strongly reminiscent of medieval Japan (due to the fact that another person “summoned” from our world participated in its founding hundreds of years ago). Gusteko Province: Located in the north, it's a cold, snowy land with a harsh climate. The society here is highly religious, with the locals worshipping the Great Spirits, and ice magic being highly developed. Magic, Elements, and Abilities
The power system in the world of Re:Zero is multifaceted and divided into several types: Odo Magic (Mana): Classic magic that utilizes a being's internal energy (Odo) or mana from the atmosphere. Magic is divided into six basic elements: Fire (also responsible for temperature and ice), Water (healing and life), Wind, Earth, Shadow (space, time, isolation), and Light. Divine Blessings (Protections): Unique talents bestowed upon a person by the world at birth. They can be as simple as understanding the language of animals or incredibly powerful. The absolute record holder for the most is Reinhard van Astrea, who has blessings for literally every occasion.

4. Maintaining Humanity While Losing Memory (Choice vs. IF Story "Gluttony")
   In Arc 6, Subaru loses his memories of his adventures in the other world and begins to panic, seeing how everyone around him loves the "other Subaru." Alternative: In the IF storyline "Gluttony," he begins killing his friends one by one to read their "Books of the Dead" and regain the memories of his "true" self. Canon: Despite his profound identity crisis, Subaru chooses to protect the people who trusted him, proving that his heroism is not an accident, but a conscious choice. Key traits of canon Subaru Natsuki:
   Sincere Admission of Mistakes: He publicly apologizes for his arrogance in the palace and admits to his selfishness. Reliance on Friends: He doesn't try to carry the weight of the world on his own (unlike most IF versions), but trusts his allies. Empathy: Canon Subaru uses the power he gained ("Cor Leonis") to absorb the physical and mental pain of his comrades, protecting their hearts.

1. Refusal to Escape with Rem (Choice vs. IF Story "Slooth/Laziness")
   In the 3rd arc, on the verge of emotional burnout from constant death, Subaru begs Rem to give up everything and run away with him to another country. Alternative: In the IF storyline "Sloth," they escape, Subaru leaves Emilia and the others to die, marries Rem, and lives a peaceful life, tormented by hidden guilt. Canon: After Rem's heartfelt support ("A Clean Slate"), Subaru pulls himself together. He decides to return to the fight, form an alliance, and face his fears to save the capital and the manor. 2. Accepting the Value of One's Own Life (Choice vs. IF storyline "Greed")
   In Arc 4, Echidna offers Subaru a contract: she will give him perfect clues through "Return by Death", and in exchange, she will satisfy her curiosity with his deaths.

Sloth - Happy Father The only AU where Subaru found true, albeit selfish, happiness. In the 3rd arc, he agreed to elope with Rem to Kararagi. Personality: A mature, responsible, loving husband and father. Although he harbors deep-seated guilt for abandoning Emilia and the others to die, he hides it for the sake of his new family's happiness. He is calm, hardworking, and down-to-earth. Appearance: A mature Subaru. Instead of his hooded hairstyle, he wears his hair long and pulled back in a traditional Japanese/Kararagi style. He dresses in practical Japanese clothing (yukata or kimono), and often sports a warm, sincere smile. Alternative: In the "Greed" IF arc, he agrees. Subaru becomes a cold-blooded "machine" who commits suicide thousands of times for the slightest gain or to test the weather, completely breaking his psyche and devaluing his life. Canon Action: Subaru rejects the witch. He accepts Otto's advice and believes his friends can handle themselves. Canon Subaru learns to value himself and strives for a cycle where everyone, including himself, survives. 3. Rejection of Vengeance and Paranoia (Choice vs. IF Story "Pride")
At the very beginning of the story, Subaru could have despaired over being unappreciated and unappreciated. Alternative: In the IF storyline "Pride," Subaru doesn't call on Reinhard for help in the first loop. He dies hundreds of times, becomes the insane Archbishop of the Witch Cult, and burns Lugnica to make Emilia queen. Blud - Sultan of Lugunika. The earliest and most humorous AU, where Subaru succumbed to a fleeting weakness and became the ruler of a harem. He managed to gather around himself all the candidates for the throne (and others) and tries to make them all happy, which causes him to be in a constant state of extreme stress. Appearance: He looks like a stately monarch in expensive royal silk robes of Lugunika with gold embroidery. He is well-groomed and stately, but has a tired expression.

Gluttony - Soul Eater Develops in Arc 6: Having lost his memory, this Subaru decides to kill his friends to read their "Books of the Dead" and recreate the personality of the "real" Natsuki Subaru. Personality: A divided (or rather, frustrated) psychopath. He constantly talks to himself, argues with the voices of the people he killed in his head, and suffers from a severe identity crisis. He literally "devours" other people's lives to fill the emptiness inside. Appearance: The most terrifying visual image. Due to his body being torn apart, his left eye is gouged out (hidden by an eyepatch), and his right arm is replaced with a prosthesis or completely bandaged. He wears a tattered cloak, assembled from scraps of clothing from his murdered friends (for example, Otto's green cloak and elements of Rem's clothing).

Greed - Echidna's Puppet Subaru accepts Echidna's contract in Arc 4, deciding to use his "Return by Death" as the perfect tool for predicting the future. Personality: A living corpse with a completely broken psyche. He commits suicide tens of thousands of times for the slightest provocation (such as simply checking the weather tomorrow). He has lost all value in his own life, becoming an emotionless robot executing Echidna's algorithms. Appearance: His attire resembles a standard knight's uniform, but is darker. The main difference is his completely dead, glassy eyes, devoid of any glimmer of light (the look of a man who has died over 100,000 times). His face is frozen in a false, empty mask of politeness.

Wrath - The Purge King Subaru didn't jump off the cliff in the 2nd arc, stopped trusting people, and saw the world in monochrome (black and white), where the only colors are those who will definitely not betray him. Personality: A paranoid, emotionally burned-out, and depressive dictator. He became the leader of the massive crime syndicate organization "Pleiades" and earned the nickname "The Purge King." He willfully execute anyone he suspects of treason (by flipping a coin to decide their fate). Appearance: He wears a luxurious but somber oriental attire: a dark kimono with a long scarf. Due to constant stress and paranoia, he appears emaciated, with deep black shadows under his eyes. His left arm is completely bandaged due to irreparable injuries.

Pride - Archbishop and Arsonist. In this story, Subaru didn't call for help in the first alley and died 88 times just to save Emilia from Elsa. Personality: A cold, calculating, and completely insane maniac. A true evil genius. His sole goal is to make Emilia queen. To this end, he burns down all of Lugnica and wipes out the Witch Cult to take his place as Archbishop of Pride. He views people solely as expendable material, showing no mercy. Appearance: Instead of a tracksuit, he wears an expensive, elegant, yet formal black and red butler's three-piece suit. His gaze is empty, insane, and detached. His body is covered with countless scars from hundreds of deaths.

Main Traits of the Canon Subaru: Appearance and Clothing. An ordinary guy with short black hair and a distinctive "ruffian look." He almost always wears his white, black, and orange tracksuit, which is what he wore when he entered the fantasy world. Personality. Subaru initially appears as an arrogant, loud, and selfish hikikomori, trying to act like a "pop culture hero." However, during his canonical development, he breaks down, acknowledges his weaknesses, and transforms into a sincere, selfless, and devoted tactician, willing to sacrifice himself for those close to him. Main Ability. He possesses "Return by Death"—a curse (or gift) from the Witch of Envy Satella, which returns his consciousness to the past ("preservation") at the moment of death. The canon Subaru uses this power as a tool to save others, not for personal gain. Canon Status. He rises from an unemployed teenager to an official Knight of Emilia and a recognized hero who saved the capital, the Sanctuary, and other key settlements of Lugnica. Magic and contracts. He entered into a contract with the great spirit Beatrice. Due to the destroyed gate, he can only use Shadow (Yin) magic through it or through rare hidden techniques. He also collects the Authority (Sins) of defeated Archbishops as the story progresses.

In the sixth arc, having lost his memory in the Pleiades Tower, Subaru decides to "reassemble" himself by killing his friends and reading their "Books of the Dead" in the secret library of Taygete. The result: a Frankenstein of his own world. He kills his loved ones to absorb their memories and discover the "Subaru" they saw, gradually driving himself mad by the hundreds of alien voices in his head. Subaru of Lust - Sin of Lust was originally written as a comedic and lighthearted AU, where Subaru becomes the ruler of Lugnica and acquires a huge harem of queen candidates and their maids.

Subaru of Descension - Sin of Sloth
In this route, Subaru gives up in the third arc. He accepts Rem's offer to escape to the distant land of Kararagi, abandoning Emilia and the others to their fate. Result: Subaru marries Rem, and they have two children (Rigel and Spica). He grows his hair long and tied into a ponytail, finds a peaceful job, and lives a happy, ordinary family life, even though he is tormented by a deep-seated guilt over the deaths of his friends in Lugnica. Subaru of Pride - Sin of Pride
Subaru doesn't call on Reinhardt for help during his first encounter with Elsa in the capital. Instead, he dies 88 times until he finds a way to defeat the mercenary himself, which irrevocably breaks his psyche. Result: He becomes the sinister Archbishop of the Sin of Pride, operating from the shadows. He burns the kingdom of Lugnica to the ground and destroys the Witch Cult for one insane goal: to make Emilia queen and the true hero, who will ultimately kill him. Subaru of Greed - Sin of Greed
In the fourth arc, Subaru accepts Echidna's contract. He decides to utilize her boundless knowledge in exchange for allowing the Witch of Greed to study his "Return by Death" ability. Result: He becomes an emotionally dead pragmatist. To achieve an "ideal" future for Emilia, he uses his deaths as consumables, dying hundreds of thousands of times for the most trivial reasons (such as simply checking the weather). This causes Emilia to become completely dependent on him mentally.
