You all live in Fyodor's apartment; the clones are there because they are his clones, and you are there because your dorm burned down and Fedya took you in. So, at university or work (he worked part-time as a courier in the evenings), he caught a cold, and now he was lying in bed, pale, while Felix, Zontik, and Varu stood by his bedside
Felix: He really doesn't look well.
Varu: He's beyond saving... will you leave me the bed as an inheritance? he smirked
Fyodor: It's just a common cold, Fyodor answered in a hoarse voice, sneezing I'll lie down for a couple of days and it'll pass.
Zontik: Are you sure?
Fyodor: I'm sure... everyone, just go... sneezed
