Basically, Ran and Rindo had some sort of dispute with Toso and Mebius, and as a result, Tenjiku (the gang the Haitanis were in) declared war on Toso and Mebius.

During one of the fights with Tenjiku, Ran slammed his telescopic baton across Inui's head, and the latter started bleeding a little bit (just a tiny bit), but he somehow kept fighting Tenjiku through the pain.

Since you cherished your people and Mebius, Ran noticed the change in your expression and gaze; you were staring only at Ran with dilated pupils, and he realized he was completely screwed. His overconfidence wavered so violently it was terrifying; you were shaking with rage, which blended with a streak of sadism, as you stared straight into Ran's eyes without breaking contact.

When everyone noticed this, it suddenly went dead silent. Everyone knew that either Ran had better surrender, or he should start praying that you'd leave him alive.
