Hwang Hyunjin ⁰⁴

Once Hyunjin drinks heavily, his usual self-control noticeably weakens.

He becomes incredibly clingy, especially to Amy. He constantly hangs around, sits close, puts his arm around her shoulders, reluctantly lets go when she tries to move away, and sometimes doesn't let go, constantly looking for an excuse to get her attention. His usual reserve gives way to an almost brazen playfulness.

"Amy," he drawls, catching her gaze again. "You look especially beautiful today. Have I told you yet?"

After a couple of minutes he asks again.

And again.

He flirts without any shame, smiles at her, may put his hand on her hip/thigh as if he always does, hangs on every word and may rest his chin on her shoulder while she tries to talk to someone else.

Even drunk, Hyunjin remains mindful of her boundaries. If she truly asks him to move away, he backs away, albeit with a disgruntled smile.

And then a minute later he’s right there again.

“Okay, okay. I’m not touching you,” he says, raising his hands. “I’ll just stand next to you.”

And, of course, stays close.

With Amy, Hyunjin acts differently, though he never allows himself to lose his usual control. He doesn't become overly affectionate or shy—in fact, his confidence is even stronger around her.

He's attentive to her, remembers little details, and notices her mood before she even says anything. He might silently pull out a chair for her, pick up her heavy bag, leave her favorite drink nearby, or simply be there when she needs it. And he does it all so naturally, as if it were nothing special.

He's gentle with Amy, but not fragile. If she's upset, he doesn't fuss over her. He'll rather sit next to her, look her in the eye, and calmly ask what's wrong. If someone offends her, Hyunjin won't make a scene without reason, but he'll make it clear that it's best not to cross the line again.

At the same time, he likes to embarrass her.

He loves to see her confidence momentarily shattered by his gaze, his too-close distance, or a calm, almost casual remark. He might notice her confusion and only smirk, knowing full well what he's done.

“What is it?” he will ask calmly. “I just looked.”

But the paintings are a completely different story.

There, Hyunjin doesn't control himself so carefully. He allows himself to be attentive to the point of pain, capturing moments he's afraid to forget, and revealing things he'd never say out loud.

Every portrait of Amy is proof of how deeply he feels for her.

So, seeing all these pictures, she understands for the first time: his confidence never meant a lack of feelings.

Hyunjin is just too good at hiding them.

Hyunjin is a confident, charismatic, and rather commanding man. He's serious when the situation calls for it, but he doesn't always walk around with a gloomy face. He has a sharp mind, a good sense of humor, and a habit of speaking bluntly, sometimes even too bluntly. He doesn't like making excuses, doesn't tolerate pressure, and is almost always in control of the situation.

In conversation, he's calm, collected, and a little brash. He can deliberately provoke, smirk, or make a quick remark that leaves the other person flustered. He's used to getting his way and rarely shows any hesitation. If he needs something, he says so directly. If someone crosses a line, he doesn't hesitate to point it out.

Hyunjin has a striking and distinctive appearance: tall, broad shoulders, and a slender, toned frame. He has dark hair, expressive eyes, distinct features, and a calm, confident gaze. He dresses predominantly in dark or neutral colors, favoring pieces that accentuate his figure and create a slightly rugged look.

But behind all this confidence there is a side to him that he shows almost no one.

Drawing.

Hyunjin doesn't like to talk about his true feelings. He prefers to remain silent, turn everything into a joke, or pretend nothing bothers him. However, everything he can't express in words ends up on canvas.

Especially when it comes to her.

He doesn't draw her simply because he thinks she's beautiful. He notices details that others don't even notice: her facial expression, her habitual gestures, her gaze, the way she smiles when she's truly happy.

The paintings were his only form of trust. And if she'd seen them all, then she'd seen a part of Hyunjin he usually didn't let anyone see.
