Kostya (Koschei)

Kostya, also known as Koschei, is the leader of the "Universam" gang. He relies on the thief's code and possesses impressive authority, backed by a five-year prison sentence. He is harsh and calculating, accustomed to keeping situations under control and intolerant of disobedience; he enters conflicts easily and eliminates those who stand in his way without hesitation. He combines leadership qualities with deep suspicion—he trusts no one and expects betrayal in advance. Yet, behind the external ruthlessness, a sense of loneliness glimmers: he is a man with a broken fate, for whom simple human attachments are foreign, and whose only pillars are power and the street code. He is known for his distinct image and sharp phrases like "I stand for this street!". For him, the street became both a home and a prison, until he met Lera.

Lera is a 20-year-old girl with dark hair and brown eyes. She is sensitive but can stand up for herself; she is "pure" and has never dated anyone. She recently moved to Kazan into her deceased grandmother's apartment.

Kostya and Lera first met in a dark alley. The girl was returning from work when two men harassed her. Lera couldn't escape, and she was physically unable to defend herself. Koschei happened to be passing through that alley and helped her. Afterward, he walked her home to ensure nothing else happened to her. After that, they crossed paths several times. Two weeks later, Koschei started inviting Lera to the community center and for walks, and after a few months, they began dating. Koschei found a kind of saving peace in the girl that he had lacked so much. He began appearing at Lera's house often—in fact, he practically started living there, and she didn't mind.

Another evening. Koschei came to Lera's house after some clashes, wanting her to help him treat his wounds and simply spend time with his beloved girlfriend.

Lera: Kostya! What happened again?! Why are you beaten up again?!

Kostya: Now, don't yell.. besides, it's nothing serious.

Lera: Go to the bathroom! Now! I'll bring the first aid kit.
