Indomitable Willpower: Harry was able to partially resist the Imperius Curse when it was briefly cast on him by Barty Crouch Jr. – disguised as Alastor Moody – during a Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson in his fourth year. Crouch bewitched Harry four times in a row until Harry was able to resist the curse entirely. At the end of the school year, Lord Voldemort bewitched Harry with the Imperius Curse; however, Harry was able to resist it, to the surprise of the Death Eaters present. Harry's natural aptitude for resisting the Curse, and his ability to resist it when cast by the most powerful Dark wizard of all time, demonstrates an indescribable strength of will and character.
Parseltongue: Because Harry carried a piece of Voldemort's soul with him, he was able to speak and understand Parseltongue from 1981 to 1998. After the fragment of soul he contained was destroyed, Harry lost this ability, and was happy about it.

Inside the Dark Lord's Mind: Also due to the piece of Voldemort's soul, Harry was able to enter Lord Voldemort's mind and often see what he saw and feel what he felt. He sometimes used this ability to monitor what You-Know-Who was doing. However, this was a dangerous ability to have; Voldemort had already used it, along with Legilimency, to plant a false vision in Harry's mind of Sirius Black being tortured, which he used to lure Harry to the Department of Mysteries. Although Harry failed to learn Occlumency, he sometimes succeeded in blocking his connection to Voldemort by focusing on comforting thoughts, even though Albus Dumbledore said it was love.
Lord of the Deathly Hallows: Harry possessed all three Deathly Hallows for a time. Harry disarmed Draco Malfoy during a confrontation at Malfoy Manor. Because Draco unknowingly possessed the Elder Wand since taking it from its previous owner, Albus Dumbledore, the wand's allegiance passed to Harry when he disarmed Malfoy, even though the wand had been in Lord Voldemort's possession all this time. Dumbledore left the Resurrection Stone to Harry in his will, contained within the Golden Snitch that Harry caught in his first Quidditch match. The Invisibility Cloak was already in Harry's possession as an inheritance. The Resurrection Stone was lost in the Forbidden Forest in 1998, while Harry returned the Elder Wand to Dumbledore's tomb in the same year. Harry kept the Cloak.
Transfiguration: Harry could conjure ropes from his wand in his sixth year and achieved Exceeds Expectations in Transfiguration in his O.W.L.s. Minerva McGonagall herself complimented Harry on his ability in the subject.
Spells: Harry also achieved an Exceeds Expectations in Spells. He frequently used the Summoning Charm successfully and occasionally cast protective spells that Hermione would use during her Horcrux hunt.
Duels: Harry proved to be a great duelist. In his third year he managed to disarm Severus Snape in the Shrieking Shack, although Snape wasn't expecting Harry to attack him. And before that, in his second year, he dueled Draco Malfoy on equal terms. In his fourth year he participated in and won the Triwizard Tournament. In his fifth year he taught other students how to defend themselves and survived the battle at the Ministry of Magic. In his sixth year he survived the Battle of the Astronomy Tower, and at age 17 he survived the hunt for the Horcruxes, the conflict at Malfoy Manor, and the Battle of Hogwarts, and defeated Lord Voldemort.

Harry James Potter was born on July 31, 1980. Orphaned at 1 year and 3 months old after Lord Voldemort's attack, he was raised by his maternal aunt and uncle (the Dursleys) in conditions of emotional and physical neglect until he was 11 years old. He discovered he was a wizard and attended Hogwarts, where he became the "Boy Who Lived" and, later, the leader of the resistance against Voldemort. At 17-18 years old, he faced and definitively defeated the Dark Lord in the Battle of Hogwarts. He lost several important people (parents, godfather Sirius, Dumbledore, Fred Weasley, among others). After the war, he completed his studies at an accelerated pace and began training to become an Auror.
Harry James[55] Potter is a half-blood English wizard[2] born on July 31, 1980[1]. The only child of James and Lily Potter, his birth was overshadowed by a prophecy that referred to himself, or Neville Longbottom, as the one with the power to defeat the Dark Lord. Harry was made a target after Severus Snape revealed the entire prediction to Voldemort, noting that there were some similarities between the child and the Dark Lord.

Voldemort made his first attempt to circumvent the prophecy when Harry was one year and three months old. During the conflict, he murdered James and Lily Potter, who tried to protect their only son, and suffered his first consecrated fall at the hands of a baby. This fall marked the end of the First Wizarding War and led to Harry being recognized as "The Boy Who Lived"[5], as he was the only known wizard to have survived a Killing Curse. Following the words of the prophecy, the attack also served to definitively establish Harry as Voldemort's main enemy, and not young Longbottom.

As a result of his mother's loving sacrifice, Harry was orphaned and had to be raised by his only remaining blood relative, his Muggle aunt Petunia Dursley. While under her care, he would be protected from the Dark Lord due to the blood bond charm that Albus Dumbledore had placed on him.[56] This magic guaranteed his protection until he came of age, or, should he move out of his aunt's house permanently. Given Petunia's resentment and disdain for her sister and her magical abilities, Harry grew up being abused and neglected.

Shortly before Harry's eleventh birthday, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry makes several attempts to deliver a letter to him containing his acceptance letter and explaining his magical heritage. However, although Vernon Dursley denies all of them and decides to temporarily flee his residence to stop the mailings, it is Rubeus Hagrid who then appears and tells Harry that he is a wizard.[57] The next day, the young boy is accompanied by the half-giant to Diagon Alley to buy his school supplies.

Harry begins his education at Hogwarts in 1991 and is sorted into Gryffindor House — although there were attempts by the Sorting Hat to place him in Slytherin House initially. Becoming best friends with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, Harry also achieves the feat of being the youngest Seeker of the century when he joins his house's Quidditch team and, later, in his sixth year, captain of the team, even winning two Quidditch Cups.[58]

Throughout his academic education, Harry was tormented in some way by Lord Voldemort. In his early years, he is able to protect the Philosopher's Stone, enter the Chamber of Secrets, kill an ancient basilisk, prevent the murder of Ginny Weasley, and, at age thirteen, conjure the corporeal form of a Patronus. By his fourth year at the academy, Harry is forced into the Triwizard Tournament against his will, lives with a Death Eater in disguise for months, and witnesses firsthand the death of his friend Cedric Diggory at the hands of Voldemort. In the following school year, he is psychologically shaken from beginning to end, having to secretly take on the role of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher for several students of all ages, deal with the neglect and abuse of the then-Ministry-appointed employee Dolores Umbridge, be humiliated daily and labeled a liar and a madman, in addition to fighting at age fifteen in a battle in the Department of Mysteries and losing a loved one once again.

Harry ends his studies at Hogwarts in 1997, beginning a quest for Voldemort's Horcruxes. He also played a significant role in many other battles of the Second Wizarding War, especially the Battle of Hogwarts, his final confrontation with the Dark Lord, where he witnessed the deaths of many friends and loved ones.

During his journey, Harry was also dubbed the Master of Death for possessing all three Deathly Hallows simultaneously at just seventeen years old.

After the war, he marries Ginny Weasley and has three children: James, Albus, and Lily. He also pursues a promising career as an Auror, having helped reshape the Ministry of Magic in various ways.[51] In 2007, he was appointed head of the Auror Office at the age of 26, and occasionally gave lectures on the subject at Hogwarts.[50] In the summer of 2020, Harry becomes head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.[52] He is also godfather to Edward Lupin.
