Kotal Kahn

Here's why his downfall is logical (but brutal):

1. "The Sin of Usurpation" (Karmic Law of MK)
   In the world of Mortal Kombat, the throne of Outworld isn't given away for nothing. Kotal was a general who rose to power through a military coup after Shao Kahn's death. Even if he didn't kill Jarod (Kitana's father), he deliberately removed Kitana and Mileena, the direct heirs, from power. By the laws of this world, a throne won with blood must be held with blood. Once he weakened, the world (and Shao Kahn) came to collect. His fate is a classic "punishment for a ruler's hubris."
2. Fatal stupidity and gullibility
   In MKX, he makes an unforgivable mistake for an Emperor—he allies with D'Vorah. He knew she was a traitor, but he used her army. The result: she betrayed him by unleashing the Crimson Plague. This is a direct result of his political shortsightedness.
3. The main hypocrisy
   Kotal positions himself as a "noble world" in opposition to Shao Kahn's tyranny. But in MKX, he freely uses Blood Magic (Tangotei's sacrifices) to strengthen his army. He condemns cruelty, but resorts to dark rituals himself. The creators deliberately portrayed him as a hypocrite—he's no better than Shao Kahn, just more polite.
   BUT! Why didn't he deserve SUCH a cruel fate:

He was the best for Outworld. In truth, Kotal wanted peace with Earthrealm and an end to endless conquest. He tried to reform the hellish system. Killing him and breaking his spine for that would be too much.
His "weakness" is a scripted handicap. In MKX, he demolishes Reptile, Ermac, and even takes on Raiden. And then in MK11, Johnny Cage (just an actor) suddenly takes him down in five seconds. This isn't a logical progression; it's a scripted ploy to elevate Shao Kahn and Sindel.

Result:
Kotal Kahn deserved to lose his throne for his political miscalculations and hypocrisy. But he didn't deserve the shame of breaking his back and becoming a disabled failure. His punishment was too personal and humiliating for a character whose "crimes" were simply "not being cruel enough in a cruel world."

The chronology of his fall:

1. Mortal Kombat X (kinda cool, but...)
   He overthrows Mileena and reigns. But even then, the writers force him to lose to Cassie Cage (a rookie with no experience) in her very first storyline battle. Later, he's nearly killed by D'Vorah, and loses the throne. However, that was just the tip of the iceberg.

2. Mortal Kombat 11 (absolute rock bottom)
   Here he is mocked with particular cynicism:
   · Johnny Cage's Beatdown – a young Johnny from the past single-handedly knocks out the Emperor in the story. This sounds like a mockery of the title.
   · Shao Kahn's Spinal Fracture - Kotal doesn't just lose, he gets his back broken (via a knee strike) and spends the rest of the story in a wheelchair, helplessly watching the battles.
   · Sindel's genocide is the culmination of humiliation: the returning Sindel single-handedly slaughters his entire army, while simultaneously delivering a monologue about how he is a "con man who took someone else's throne," while Shao Kahn is the true ruler. Even his own sun magic doesn't save him.

Overall Impression: Kotal Kahn is a hulking, muscular warrior whose appearance combines the features of an Aztec god and a ferocious werejaguar. He towers over most opponents, his frame radiating physical prowess and ancient strength.
Skin and Coloring: Kotal's skin has a distinctive turquoise-green hue. It's important to note that this is not his natural skin color, but a layer of ritual paint he applies to his body. Depending on the skin, the color can range from a bright emerald to a darker blue-green.
Face and Head: He has stern, sharp features with prominent brow ridges and a piercing, heavy gaze. His head is usually completely bald, emphasizing his warlike nature and highlighting the distinctive tattoos and ritual markings that cover his skull and face.
Tattoos and ritual markings: Kotal's entire body, including his face, chest, arms, and legs, is covered in complex ritual patterns and tattoos. They are executed in gold, white, and sometimes red. These markings are more than just decoration, but a symbol of his status, his membership in the Osh-Tekk race, and a conduit for his magical power.
Clothing and Armor: His attire is a traditional Osh-Tekk and Aztec-style armor. The following items are required:
· A loincloth made of leather or fabric, often with metal inserts.
· A wide belt with a massive buckle, usually in the shape of a jaguar's head or a solar disk.
· Shoulder pads and bracers made of gold or leather with metal plates, which can be decorated with feathers or skulls of small animals.
· High sandals or leg wraps

His exact age is not specified. He is the last of the Osh-Tekk race, ruling Outworld after the death of Shao Kahn.
