Inhabitants of Hell (continued)

(Cerberus continuation: Enrage. If more than one Cerberus is involved in a battle and one of them dies, all remaining active enemies become enraged. They begin to move and attack significantly faster, and this state persists until their death. Enraged Cerberus can fall off ledges when attacking. Weaken. When a Cerberus reaches half health, large cracks appear on its body, and a chunk of its head is torn out, signaling its weakened state.)

Inhabitants of Hell (continued)

(continued from the soldier: The Soldier has two main attacks:
A volley of projectiles. The enemy raises and pumps their right hand, charging projectiles of hellish energy, then fires four projectiles toward the player in an expanding triangle, with the center projectile aimed directly at the target. If one projectile in the volley is parried, the others will not deal damage.
A powerful kick. If the player gets too close, the Soldier will strike with his prosthetic leg, dealing high damage and knocking the opponent back a significant distance. Additionally, the Soldier can block damage from standard explosions while on the ground, significantly reducing the damage taken. However, if he is launched into the air, the block will not work. More powerful red explosions (such as those from Core Eject, Sharpshooter, or Rocket Launcher) completely bypass his defense.
Cerberus (Cerberuses appear as massive, featureless humanoids with stone-like skin. They hold a glowing yellow-orange energy sphere resembling an apple. They act as guardians of Hell, including guarding the door with the famous quote from Dante's Inferno: "Abandon hope, ye who enter here." Cerberus' design and pose are inspired by Auguste Rodin's sculpture "The Thinker," which was originally conceived as part of the "Gates of Hell" composition. Cerberuses are initially motionless, but awaken when the player enters the arena. In combat, they are slow and predictable, but deal high damage.
Throw an energy sphere. Cerberus spins his arm and throws a ball at the player, which explodes on impact (deals 20 damage). The attack is not used if the player is too close. The sphere can be parried, but its high speed and trajectory make it difficult.
Dash. At medium range, Cerberus dashes toward the player, dealing 25 damage and knocking them back.
Shockwave. Upon close contact, Cerberus stomps his foot, creating a shockwave that deals 25 damage and knocks the player upward.

Inhabitants of Hell (continued)

The Stalker is a wrinkled, dark-gray humanoid with thin legs and a permanently hunched back (it seems that he walks backwards, and his head is upside down). He is dressed in black cloth with a gold lining that hangs down the sides. On his wrists and legs are gold rings. His head is covered by a hood and a gas mask with yellow lenses and a long oxygen tube hanging from his mouth. On his “back” he carries a large cylindrical glass canister with gold sand. The light rings on the canister change color depending on his health: first green, then yellow, and before attacking - red. The Stalker is first encountered in mission 4-2: GOD DAMN THE SUN (in the Russian localization it is sometimes translated as “Damn the sun”). This is the sixth enemy of the Shell class that the player encounters. By default, the Stalker does not attack the player. Its goal is to find The nearest enemy of the appropriate rank and detonate its canister near them. It selects targets based on its "support priority rank": it first searches for enemies of a higher rank. If there are multiple, it will choose the closest one.
Soldier (Soldiers are an upgraded version of the Stray enemy, with added mechanical components. Their right side, part of their face, and pelvis are replaced with rectangular blue mechanical parts, and their right arm is replaced with a large cannon. The Soldier's body is lighter, with less blood, and overall, they are slightly smaller than the Stray. Technological implants were salvaged from broken machines to more effectively harness infernal energy. These upgrades give the Soldier increased confidence, causing them to act more aggressively than the standard Stray. However, their intelligence remains low.)

Inhabitants of Hell (continued)

(continued from Sisyphean Insurrectionist: The Sisyphean Insurrectionist is a formidable opponent thanks to its combination of high mobility and powerful attacks. Its arsenal includes:
Attacks using Malicious Face. He swings it like a flail, striking from above, horizontally, or directly at the player. These attacks have a long setup time but are executed very quickly. Upon impact, they create a shockwave that can deal damage even if the attack misses.
Jumping. He can jump high into the air and slam down on the player, creating a shockwave.
Kick. If the player gets too close, the rebel will stomp, creating a spherical shockwave to push them away.
Schism (Schism appears as a deformed, headless, gray-skinned humanoid. It has two left arms, an organic cannon resembling a double-barreled shotgun on its right arm, a metal spine protruding from its chest, and a skull with a glowing red eye on its right shoulder. Schism tries to stay at a medium range from the player to attack. If it loses sight of a target, it approaches their position. After attacking, it moves to a random point within a 10-unit radius of its current location. If Schism launches itself into the air, its attack is interrupted and its cooldown is reset. Its primary attack is Projectile Barrage. Schism raises its right arm, charges a projectile, and then fires a series of 6 yellow Hell Orb projectiles connected by an energy chain. The flight path (vertical or horizontal) is chosen randomly, but if the target is directly above or below the enemy, it is always vertical.)

Inhabitants of Hell (continued)

(Ferryman continuation: The Ferryman is an aggressive and fast-paced opponent who prefers close combat, trying to stay out of sight. His arsenal is varied, and his choice of attack depends heavily on the player's actions.
Oar Combo: An overhead swing of the oar followed by a horizontal strike. The first swing cannot be parried, but the second can.
Kick Combo: Two quick kicks (up and down). As with the previous attack, only the second attack can be parried. Spinning Leap: A jump with a spinning oar to quickly close the distance. This attack cannot be parried. Lightning Cast: If the Ferryman is unable to attack the player for a few seconds, he begins charging and releasing a tracking bolt of lightning. Before the attack, the oar glows brightly blue, and a pillar of light with a lightning silhouette appears in the air. This attack can be Charge Back, dealing additional damage and gaining the +Ride the Lightning style bonus.
Oar Slam: Jump and then slam the oar into the ground, creating an explosion. A direct hit deals 25 damage, and an explosion deals 35.
The Sisyphean Insurrectionist is a large, muscular humanoid creature of the Husk race. He is missing his head and right arm, his body is dissected, and his intestines are wrapped around his chest and left arm. He is practically naked, wearing only a loincloth, and his left arm is elongated and ends in a hand with long, thin fingers. In this hand, he clutches Malicious Face, a presumably dead but bleeding object that he uses as a club. The rebel's feet are stained with blood, allowing him to walk on the hot golden sand of the Greed layer without being burned. He also has a broken left ankle, causing him to limp. According to the game's lore, the Sisyphean Rebels are an army of Husks, assembled and trained by King Sisyphus to overthrow Heaven's control over Hell and free sinners from eternal torment. After defeat rebellion Sisyphus was condemned to forever roll a huge stone to the top of the pyramid in Greed.

Inhabitants of Hell (continued)

(continued from Hideous Mass: In vertical form:
Mortar Shells. The mass fires two projectiles that arc and explode, dealing high damage. These projectiles can be parried.
Impact with the ground. Creates a shockwave.
Cotton. Sends a vertical shock wave in the direction of the cotton. In the lying form:
Harpoon Shot. The tail fires a harpoon that, when hit, slows the player and prevents them from dashing or sliding. The harpoon can be parried and broken by hitting it or severely damaging the tail. Rage state
The Abominable Mass enters a frenzy when its health drops below 33% for the normal variant or below 20% for the boss variant. In this state, it flips onto its back, exposing its weak points—its belly and tail. While enraged, it begins firing mortar shells continuously, making it extremely dangerous. This state lasts until it dies, making eliminating the enemy a top priority.
Ferryman (boss and recurring enemy) Ferrymen are skeletal humanoids with blue bones, dressed in white, tattered robes. Their limbs are adorned with golden ring-shaped artifacts, and on their heads they wear a golden crescent-shaped headdress. In combat, they use a large, ornate oar (which many call a spoon) as a weapon. According to the game's lore, Ferrymen are rare Husks whose devotion to Heaven allowed them to become ferrymen of souls between the layers of Hell. They use oars not for rowing, but as clubs, and their skulls contain latent energy that allows them to open gates for souls. With the death of humanity, the influx of souls ceased, and they wander aimlessly, hoping for forgiveness. The player first encounters the Ferryman as a boss at the end of mission 5-2: Waves of the Starless Sea. After destroying the idol that blesses him, the Ferryman makes backflip onto the ferry deck and the fight begins.
Ferrymen later appear in the game as regular enemies in the later campaign levels, as well as special enemies.

Inhabitants of Hell (continued)

(continued from Minotaur: Second Phase:
After seeming defeat, the Minotaur returns to the room before the exit. Its shell is broken, revealing vulnerable spots: its face and certain areas of its armor (a long spine-like protrusion and teeth on its neck).
He uses more area-of-effect attacks (acid, explosions), as well as fast-paced attacks like a four-swing combo with his hammer and a charge.
When inactive, the Minotaur covers his vulnerable face with his hand.)
Filth (Filth are emaciated humanoids with no arms, eyes, or nose. The only noticeable feature is a large, gaping mouth with sharp teeth. The body is grayish-brown, covered in dried blood. The lowest form of Husk. Husks are the physical embodiment of the souls of the damned. Filth are created from those souls that were too weak and insignificant to form a full-fledged body. They are driven solely by hunger, and have extremely low intelligence. They constantly pursue the player. Their main attack is a lunge with a bite: the creature braces itself, looks at the target, and then suddenly lunges forward and bites, dealing 30 points of damage. This attack can be parried, but due to the deceptive range of the lunge, I advise you to simultaneously dash while parrying to accurately avoid the blow. They can jump towards the target - this jump also deals 30 damage. An important detail: this attack cannot be parried, but if at the moment of the jump the creature (Deal damage, the attack will be interrupted)
Hideous Mass (The Hideous Mass first appears as a boss at the end of Mission 1-3: Halls of Sacred Remains. It later returns as a boss in Mission 6-1: Cry of the Weepers. The Hideous Mass has eight long legs, and its body resembles a scorpion. Armor covers most of its body, including its upper body, legs, and tail. Its lion-like "head" has glowing eyes. Its arms have mouth-like appendages at the ends, which it can use to fire projectiles. Its tail is equipped with four glowing appendages, one of which can fire a harpoon.)

Inhabitants of Hell (continued)

Mannequin (The mannequin has a white, vaguely female humanoid body, covered in blood oozing from the joints. The most noticeable feature is its upside-down face with a neutral expression. The limbs are unusually constructed: they consist of multiple arms holding onto each other. At the end of each "arm" are two fused hands. Even the feet are replaced by hands that hold other hands. If you approach an inactive mannequin, you can hear faint breathing. By the way, in an inactive state, they sometimes act as passive decoration - they can change pose when the player turns away. Mobility. Mannequins are very fast: they can move quickly, climb walls and ceilings. Sometimes they jump to the ceiling and from there attack the player with projectiles from a distance. Ranged attack. The mannequin fires a homing projectile (Hell Seeker), similar to Mindflayer projectiles. The projectile initially moves slowly, but gradually accelerates. It can be parried. Using the Feedbacker arm, the player will also recover health. The attack itself can be interrupted, but not parried. Close combat. If the player gets close, the dummy will perform a two-hit combo. Parrying any of these attacks will deal so much damage to the dummy that it instantly dies.
The Minotaur is a grotesque mass of flesh and armor, vaguely resembling a bull. It has a bull's head, covered in a shell shaped like a huge hand, and its exposed belly bears teeth that sink into its spine. It has three pairs of limbs: two human legs in the back, two bull legs in the front, and a pair of human arms. Its left arm is split in two and used to swing a massive hammer. Grotesque faces in various states of suffering are carved into its legs, above its hooves. After its first defeat, its shell cracks, revealing a disfigured muzzle.
First phase:
The Minotaur pursues the player, moving through three tram cars.
He attacks with his hands and a hammer, and can also flood train cars with acid or destroy them.
Acid deals increased damage (66%)

machines

The Sentry (an enemy in ULTRAKILL, belonging to the Greater Machine class) is a stationary sniper: it seeks a position, burrows its feet into the ground, and charges a powerful hitscan attack. First encountered in mission 5-1, "In the Wake of Poseidon," it is a humanoid robot without arms. Its body is painted lime green, with light gray accents on its limbs. The upper part of its body is the barrel of a sniper rifle, with an antenna protruding from the back. To the right of the barrel is a camera with a pink lens—this is the turret's "eye." Behind the Sentry is a small metal crate containing ammunition.
Turrets tend to stay at a medium range from the player. They will move until they find a good firing position, even if it's right in front of the player. Afterward, they burrow into the ground with their feet, becoming completely immobile. While charging, the turret tracks the player with a pink laser and emits an increasingly loud audio signal. Just before firing, the antenna and camera turn orange. Hit-scan Shot. After charging, the turret fires three precise beams with infinite range that can pierce up to three enemies or hit one enemy three times. This attack deals 50 damage. It can be parried with a strike at the last moment to stun the turret. The beam can also be deflected with a coin if it lands directly in the center of the laser, damaging the nearest enemy. Kick. If you get too close to the turret before it burrows, it will attempt a kick, dealing 40 damage. This attack cannot be parried.

The excavator (this isn't a regular enemy, but rather a mysterious Easter egg machine. I've compiled the key information about this object in case you noticed it and want to investigate further. It's a large yellow machine. It can be found in level 7-2: "LIGHT UP THE NIGHT." The excavator is behind a locked door—to open it, you need to activate all three plates in this level. A small flag is attached to the machine.)

machines

Mindflayer (one of the enemies in the game ULTRAKILL. I've compiled some basic information about it: what it looks like, what its attacks are, and how to fight it effectively.) It's a floating humanoid machine. Its upper body is robotic (a massive "head" with two shoulder segments and two rectangular protrusions on the back), and the rest of its body is a plastic shell shaped like a human. It's turquoise in color. Five tentacle-like cables with glowing stingers extend from various points.
The Mindflayer typically has a female body, but there's a small chance (around 2%) that it will appear as a male form (the only visual difference being a flat chest). The plastic shell serves no functional purpose—it's simply an aesthetic element created by the machine itself. The Mindflayer floats slowly in the air and frequently teleports to get closer to the player or before attacking. Whenever it takes more than 6 damage (either in one hit or over time), it also teleports.
The enemy has several types of attacks:
Homing Projectiles (Hell Seekers). Mindflayer raises his arms and thrusts them forward, firing five projectiles that home in on the player. These projectiles can be parried back at Mindflayer (using the Feedbacker), deflected with an explosion, or destroyed with the Sharpshooter Revolver.
Laser Beam. Mindflayer charges in mid-air and then fires a beam that streaks toward the player. A thin turquoise line indicates where the beam will originate, but it can sometimes be misleading—in such cases, it's best to rely on dodging. This attack cannot be parried.
Melee. If you get too close or teleport into range, the Mindflayer will strike with its tentacles, dealing 30 damage. This attack can be parried, but parrying won't interrupt it.

machines

Drone (small purple flying discs. In the center of the front panel is a round, bright pink "eye", and on the sides are glowing pink lines, similar to a blush. Sometimes they make a chirping sound, reminiscent of a bird. Drones stay at a medium distance: if the player gets too close, they will retreat. They constantly move, dashing to the sides, which is difficult to hit. However, the dashes are random - they do not purposefully dodge in response to attacks. Primary attack: the drone charges a strike (this is visible by the particles around it and the sound, and the eye and lines turn orange), after which it releases three projectiles of hellish energy, flying in a vertical column towards the player. While charging the drone, you can parry by hitting the body - and the projectiles themselves can also be parried. When the drone's health is depleted, it performs a suicide attack: it flies towards the player and explodes on contact (deals 35 points of damage). At this moment It can also be parried to redirect it to other enemies, or fired to cause a premature explosion. However, if enough damage is inflicted or the explosion is triggered by another means, the drone will be destroyed instantly, bypassing the kamikaze phase. These are mass-produced security devices: they simultaneously function as surveillance cameras and guards. Initially designed to use only non-lethal ammunition, they later began to be assembled from parts of other, now-defunct machines to more efficiently extract blood.

machines

Swordsmachine (the first Machine-type boss the player encounters in ULTRAKILL) is a tall, slender humanoid robot with an asymmetrical body covered in yellow-orange paint and black wires. Its right arm is replaced with a shotgun, and in its left hand it holds a homemade motorized sword. When attacking, the sword glows orange, leaving a trail of light. Swordsmachine first appears as a secret boss on stage 0-2 ("Meat Grinder"), and is fully fought on stage 0-3 ("Double Down"). It later begins appearing as a regular enemy on stage 6-1 and in Cyber Slaughter.
It has two special variants: Agony (red) and Tundra (blue), which act as secret bosses in levels 1-3 and 1-E. The robot attacks from a distance with a shotgun and tries to get in close for melee combat with a sword.
After taking 15 damage, he loses his shotgun and enters phase two.
Phase 1 attacks: triple sword combo, running slash, shotgun blast. Phase 2:
The robot loses its shotgun, but gains new sword attacks.
Second phase attacks: throwing sword like a boomerang, spinning sword attack.)

Streetcleaner (an enemy in ULTRAKILL, a humanoid robot armed with a flamethrower. First appears in mission 1-2: "Burning World"). These are black and brown robots with angular heads and long black "skirts" held together by metal plates. They have small red fuel tanks on their wrists, and a large red and yellow fuel tank with a warning sign attached to their back. This tank constantly emits smoke and a faint orange glow. Streetcleaners aggressively pursue the player, trying to get close enough to attack with their flamethrower. Before the flame erupts, a blue flash appears. The fire cannot be parried. These robots have a unique ability: they can dodge most projectiles fired by the player (shotguns, nail guns, shots from the Screwdriver railgun, and the hook of the whip). Dodge has a 3-second cooldown.

machines

Big Johninator (a boss in ULTRAKILL, encountered on level 7-1: Garden of Forking Paths) is a light-gray humanoid machine with red glowing eyes. He wears black and white camouflage, over which he wears a bulletproof vest with three M67 grenades. He carries a dark red minigun (likely a modified M61), a red backpack on his back, and a lit cigar in his mouth. The boss's behavior parodies the Terminator: he attacks aggressively, periodically jumps and throws mines, and can also randomly utter taunting phrases. Attacks
Big Johninator has three main attacks:
Rocket Barrage. Three rockets, each dealing 35 damage. They can be frozen with the Freezeframe Rocket Launcher and returned to the boss for a [+Round Trip] bonus.
Explosive beam. Similar to Evil Face's beam, it deals 50 damage. It can't be parried, but it can be reflected.
Mines. It constantly drops 1-3 mines that trigger when a player approaches and explode, dealing 35 damage.

1000-THR "Earthmover" (a fighting machine (Supreme Machine) and a boss in the game ULTRAKILL, which the player encounters on stage 7-4: "...Like antennas to the sky" The machine resembles a centaur or giraffe: it has four legs, a long neck with six glowing white eyes and a long antenna on the left side of its head. On the upper part of the body there is one thin arm with an electric weapon capable of firing powerful beams over long distances. On the back and neck of the machine are various structures: working power plants, living quarters for people, factories and cranes. The legs are covered with ladders, platforms and steam vents. Inside is a huge chamber lined with flesh and filled with boiling blood, which is washed away when penetrated. The path up the neck is guarded by Idols, and the head chamber contains the brain of the machine. 1000-THR "Earthmover" was created during the "End War" by the Japanese engineers as a superweapon against the machines from Hell. A captured prim-soul was integrated into its core.

cars (continued)

The Gutterman is an enemy (or rather, a "Supreme Machine") in the game ULTRAKILL. I've compiled some basic information about it: what it looks like, what its attacks are, and how to fight it effectively. It's a bulky humanoid machine. It has:
a head in the form of a silver dome, reminiscent of old Russian diving masks;
black metal waist;
abdomen and parts of the limbs made of flexible dark gray material;
the rest of the body is covered with brown plates;
Red lines, markings, and lights on the body. On the right shoulder is the abbreviation "ЧТ-01" (in Cyrillic) - an abbreviation for "ЧОЛОВЕК-ТАНК 01" (MAN-TANK 01). A large coffin containing a skeleton is also attached to the back.
Gutterman slowly moves toward the player (V1), firing his minigun. Initially, the spread is wide, but over time, his accuracy improves, making it nearly impossible to dodge the bullets.
The main defense is the shield on the left hand. It completely blocks most direct attacks. If the player gets too close, Gutterman will attempt a shield strike (dealing moderate damage and knockback). Breaking the shield grants the player a +GUARD BREAK style bonus, and depending on the method, additional bonuses (+DISRESPECT, +SERVED, +STRIKE!) and V1 healing, similar to parrying. After breaking the shield, Gutterman is stunned for 3 seconds - unable to move or shoot. If the player gets close again, Gutterman will attempt a hand strike (without a shield). This attack is slightly faster, deals less damage, and can be parried if the enemy is not enraged. Gutterman falls forward, creating a small shockwave that knocks the player and nearby enemies (light and medium) into the air. If an enemy is standing in front of the falling Gutterman, they will be instantly killed - this grants a +PANCAKED style bonus (similar to a falling Malicious Face). The corpse does not disappear immediately - it can be hooked. hook, and stick a screwdriver into the body (except for the coffin and shield, if they were not destroyed).

Leviathan (continued description)

Third phase:
The Leviathan begins to sink underwater, eventually destroying the boat it serves as a combat platform. In its place, a ring of its own body appears, slowly rotating clockwise and invulnerable to damage.
In addition to its previous attacks, the boss unleashes a giant beam from its mouth: the beam circles its body at increasing speed. The player must jump over the beam to avoid damage. After using the beam, Leviathan becomes disoriented for a few seconds before attacking again. The heart is a vulnerable target. It can be damaged, for example, with a magnet, and then quickly attacked with the Green Nail Gun.
The Green Revolver's coin ricochets allow you to constantly attack the heart without having to constantly be on Leviathan's back.
Lightning can cause serious damage: if magnets, nails, or a screwdriver are attached to the Leviathan's body and lightning strikes it, it will deal 30 damage. If lightning strikes the heart directly, it will deal 90 damage.

v1 (continued description 2)

Nailgun. Fires nails. The Attractor variant has an alternate fire: a magnet attracts the nails to a point on the enemy, causing them to detonate (+NAILBOMB). The Overheat variant removes the ammo limit but builds up heat; its alternate fire fires a large number of flaming nails for explosive damage. Railgun. A powerful weapon. Variants: Electric (a hitscan beam with unlimited penetration), Screwdriver (a drill that causes continuous bleeding - great against bosses), Malicious (creates a large explosion on impact - for groups of enemies). All railgun variants have a forced reload (about 16 seconds). Rocket Launcher. Allows you to launch rockets. There is a Freeze Frame variant: if you hold the timer before firing, you can "freeze" the rocket's movement, creating traps.

V1 continuation of the description

Three stamina bars. They regenerate gradually. It's important to manage your stamina wisely: dashing uses one bar, while sliding doesn't, but it also doesn't allow stamina to regenerate. Dash. Allows you to quickly move horizontally and provides invulnerability frames. Slide. Helps you move continuously in one direction. While sliding, you can slightly adjust the direction (left/right), but it's difficult to change the vector drastically. Dive. A strike upon landing from a height. Holding the strike button creates a shockwave that knocks up lightweight enemies. Dive also enhances subsequent jumps and slides. Wall jumping. You can bounce off a wall to continue moving. Blood Absorption. This is the primary method of healing. The Experimental V1 armor allows you to directly absorb fresh blood from enemies upon contact.
Parry (Feedbacker). A key mechanic. The left hand (Feedbacker) allows you to strike an enemy attack or projectile at the precise moment. This not only negates damage but also adds bonus damage to the reflected projectile, accelerates it, and sends it toward your crosshair. Sometimes, parrying also heals: restoring stamina and some health. Important note: not all attacks and projectiles can be parried. Weapon combos. Many interactions are synergistic. For example, if you fire a shotgun and then parry one of the Feedbacker pellets, that pellet will become explosive and deal more damage.
Revolver. Good for ranged attacks. Available variants: Piercer (pierces multiple targets), Marksman (works with coins: throw a coin, then shoot it – it ricochets with bonus damage), and a secret alternative that switches the primary fire to a steady shot. Shotgun. Effective at close range. Can be combined with Parry: Feedbacker allows you to "power up" one of the pellets after firing, making it explosive.

Mysterious Druid Knight

There's a secret boss named the Mysterious Druid Knight (and Owl). He appears on level 4-3: A SHOT IN THE DARK. He's a skeleton wearing a medieval helmet with large eyes shining through the metal and an owl perched on his shoulder.
The character is a reference to popular YouTube reviewers Mandalore Gaming (who voices the knight) and Shammyt (who voices the owl). Developer Hakita thanked them for their support during the early stages of the game's development.
The boss has four health bars (purple, pink, maroon, red), each corresponding to a different phase. As you progress, he becomes more dangerous:
Phase 2: Increases attack and movement speed.
Phase 3: Enraged status.
Phase 4: Becomes covered in sand (Sanded status), blocking blood healing. "Full Auto." The Knight declares an attack and fires four volleys of red projectiles moving in a straight line. "Fuller Auto." A more complex attack: the boss summons a multitude of blue homing projectiles that move slowly and seek out a target.
When defeated, the knight will perform a suicidal dash towards the player and explode.

Mirage

A character from the game ULTRAKILL who appears in V1's dreams and in the secret level 2-S: ALL-IMPERFECT LOVE SONG. Mirage is a robot with a blue body and a single, expressive yellow eye that takes up her entire face. Her design is very similar to V1's, but without the wings. She wears a black jacket over a white shirt, a red diagonally striped tie, and a red miniskirt with the same stripes. Her clothing appears casual, suggesting that she doesn't care much about her appearance. At first, Mirage is confrontational and rude, displaying aggression and a tendency to use insults. However, as the dialogue progresses, her irritability subsides, and it becomes clear that she has a deeply nihilistic view of the world and herself. She admits that her rude behavior is the result of constant existential angst. The player's task is to calm the torment of her mind, as Mirage is "already torn apart by the eternal fear of existence." The level featuring her is presented in the format of a short visual novel.

MAHINS (robots, in short) and more...

Virtue (Virtue appears as a floating blue transparent sphere containing a purple triangle wrapped in golden rectangular chains. It has four wings: two large blue ones for flight and two smaller ones that form an arrow under its body. Virtue also has golden debris around it and a golden ring above its head, acting as a halo. When it appears, it emits a faint blue glow that fades over time. Its primary attack is a beam of divine light. Before it begins, Virtue makes a sound and emits a pink glow. A white symbol then begins to rotate around the player, following them for about 3 seconds, after which it stops at its current position and releases a beam. This beam deals 30 damage, lasts for about 2 seconds, and is not affected by height or cover.)

Guttertanks are bulky, humanoid machines with bright red armor, reminiscent of German tanks from World War II. They have horse-like legs with square metal "hooves" that help them avoid getting stuck in mud. A large rocket launcher is mounted on the right forearm, connected to a smoking tank on the back. The left hand is more human-like, with three fingers and a thumb used to plant land mines. The left hand also bears the inscription "FAUST PANZER" in yellow letters, which translates from German as "fist tank."
Rocket Attack. He launches red rockets from a distance that, if missed, freeze in place and explode after a short delay. These rockets behave similarly to the player's rockets and can be frozen with the Freezeframe Rocket Launcher to temporarily disable an enemy's ranged attack. Mine Planting. Instead of firing, he sometimes plants a landmine at his feet. These mines remain on the battlefield even after his death. The player can parry the mine as it bounces before detonation—this will fully heal and allow the mine to be launched in the opposite direction. Melee (punch).

inhabitants of hell

Stray (In appearance, Stray is a tall, skinless humanoid. Its eyes are empty, bones and bloody muscles are visible, and there are no internal organs. A mask covers its mouth. Stray prefers to keep its distance. If the player is too close, the enemy will retreat; if too far, it will close in to a favorable attack zone. In close combat, it is defenseless, but if cornered, it attacks as usual. It has one primary attack: Stray charges and throws a projectile of Hellish energy at the player.)
Malicious Face (a giant stone head with a carved face. At first glance, it appears to be floating in the air, but in reality, it stands on four translucent, spider-like "legs." Upon death, these limbs disappear, and the head falls to the ground and cracks. Projectile Barrage. The enemy fires six Hellish Energy projectiles from its mouth. These projectiles can be parried (returned to the enemy with damage) with the Blue Hand.
A charged laser beam. Charging is indicated by a yellow glow from the mouth and a special sound. The laser instantly explodes upon contact with a surface. While charging (approximately 2.5 seconds), hitting an enemy will interrupt the charge and detonate the beam right in front of Malicious Face's face. The lower the enemy's health, the more often they will use the laser.
Idol (The idol resembles a marble statue: a hooded figure holding a child. Its lower half is often hidden beneath the floor when it appears. A bright blue aura appears around the idol, and if approached, it will turn toward the player. The idol itself does not attack. Its purpose is to bless (protect) another enemy. While the idol is alive, the blessed enemy becomes invulnerable to almost any damage.)

Heavenly Council

A group of angels who usurped power in Heaven after God abandoned creation. They proclaimed themselves guardians of order, but in reality, they established a tyranny, using a distorted interpretation of the Father's will to control the masses. The Council ruled through force and terror. To achieve their goals, they used the archangel Gabriel (also known as "God's Will" or "the Judge of Hell") as a pawn. Their plan was to purge Hell of the "wicked." The central conflict unfolds after Gabriel's first defeat at the hands of the V1 prototype machine. The Council declares the archangel a traitor, strips him of the "Light of the Father" (his divine essence), and gives him 24 hours to "correct his mistakes." Humiliated and consumed by vengeance, Gabriel returns to Hell. However, after his second defeat, he begins to doubt the justice of his mission and that of the Council. Gabriel realizes he was merely a blind instrument in the hands of the Council, who used him to further their own interests. Ultimately, the archangel returns to Heaven to exterminate the Council. The last surviving Council member begs for mercy, warning that his death will prevent Gabriel from reconnecting with the Father's Light. But Gabriel decapitates the official and displays his head to the rest of Heaven, then returns to Hell. Composition: None of the Council members are named. At least 17 figures are seen in the game's cutscenes, but only a few remain alive by the final events.
Appearance: These are humanoid angels dressed in richly decorated, regal robes. Their cloaks are most often shades of gold, white, and royal purple.
Abilities: The plot reveals that the Council could strip someone of the "Light of the Father" if they deemed them unworthy. However, they themselves apparently lacked combat skills and preferred to delegate forceful actions to those like Gabriel.
Status: The Council was destroyed by Gabriel.

Phanuel

Connections to mythology. In the Christian tradition, Raphael is often considered an angel of healing: for example, he stirred the waters of the pool of Bethesda. In the Book of Enoch, he is also described as one who heals and guides souls. The name Raphael itself translates as "God has healed."
A minor character in Ultrakill, Phanuel is an archangel who represents "God's patience." He appears only as a mural in Level 8-1: "Tearing Wonderland," along with four other archangels: Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, and the Redacted Angel (possibly Lucifer). Phanuel is depicted as a slender and lanky angel in green robes. On his chest, he wears a large gold medallion engraved with a lion. He wears gold bracers with black leather inserts, gold greaves reaching mid-thigh, and a crown resembling a crown of thorns. He wears heels, and the fingers of his gloves are pointed, resembling claws. Like the other archangels, Phanuel has a halo. Its distinctive feature is its green color, shaped like an inverted, shallow triangle, and several floating ribbons with runes that form the shape of wings or a halo around its body. Features and References
Symbolism: The green color of his robes symbolizes the Earth and Life, which may indicate his mission to lead believers to eternal life and a new Earth.
Name: The name "Phanuel" means "Face of God," reflecting his role as a mediator between humans and the divine. He is also known as a defender against accusations.
Lore Connection: In the Book of Enoch, Phanuel appears as an archangel who oversees repentance and is associated with the hope of those seeking eternal life.
Parallels with other characters: Phanuel resembles Gabriel, but in green and wearing heels. Another interesting detail: Phanuel "reassembles" the Ferryman, emphasizing his connection to patience, as the ferryman's job requires endurance.

Raphael

A minor character, one of the archangels of Heaven. I've compiled some basic information about him—I'll show you what he looks like right away: Role and title. He is called "God's Power." Like other archangels in the game, he embodies one of the divine principles. Appearance. Raphael is clad in white and gold armor, similar to Gabriel's. He has a pink halo, pointing upward like the tip of an arrow, with a runic pattern at the base. On his right pauldron is a rose-shaped decoration made of pink material. His helmet is unusual: it seems to consist of three fused faces with blood flowing down them, and the crown has a curved shape, resembling a graph. Unlike Gabriel, Raphael doesn't wear a loincloth—instead, he wears a half-robe. He also has several short pink "wings." Appearance in the game. Raphael actually appears only once—in a painting in level 8-1: HURTBREAK WONDERLAND. There, he is depicted alongside other archangels: Michael, Gabriel, Phanuel, and another angel (whom some players associate with Lucifer). Status and Mysteries: The developers left much room for interpretation. It's unknown whether Raphael survived Gabriel's massacre of the Council, or whether he was even a member of it. His future appearance in the game is also questionable: at the time of level 8-1's release, there were only a couple of levels remaining, and many believed that other archangels besides Gabriel would be the only ones in active gameplay. Fans are speculating, however—it's unlikely that the game's creator, Hakita, would have added such a detailed character just for the sake of it.
Connections to mythology. In the Christian tradition, Raphael is often considered an angel of healing: for example, he stirred the waters of the pool of Bethesda. In the Book of Enoch, he is also described as one who heals and guides souls. The name Raphael itself translates as "God has healed."

Michael

In the ULTRAKILL lore, Michael is one of the five archangels, the supreme beings of Heaven. He is associated with "Divine Wisdom." While in Abrahamic religions, Michael is typically seen as a warrior and protector of Heaven, in the game his role is more likely to be that of an advisor, strategist, or archivist. A large angel in heavy white robes.
The clothes have orange and light blue stripes.
Narrow golden shoulder pads.
Golden gloves with black leather inserts and golden greaves.
A lush robe with golden patterns.
A key detail: unlike other archangels (such as Gabriel, who wears a helmet), Michael wears a hood. Another unusual detail: on his belt is an additional pair of golden hands, folded in prayer. However, these hands have no joints—most likely, they serve a decorative function. His halo is fiery orange, with sharp curves and runes surrounding a large circle resembling a sun. Stylistically, this echoes the halos of Jesus and other saints in Christian art. Unlike some other archangels in the game, Michael is not depicted with a weapon.

Gabriel

The supreme angel, nicknamed "God's Will" for his devotion and proactiveness. He is based on the Archangel Gabriel from Abrahamic religions (Bible, Quran), but in the game universe, his role is reimagined. He killed King Minos on the Circle of Lust. Minos attempted to negotiate by transforming his layer of Hell into a utopia without eternal torment, but Gabriel considered this a violation of order and eliminated his opponent. For this, the Council awarded him the title of "Judge of Hell." During the rebellion of King Sisyphus, Gabriel saw how dependent the rebel army was on their leader. He decapitated Sisyphus with his swords (Justice and Splendor), breaking the morale of the rebels. When machines began to infiltrate Hell, Gabriel was tasked by the Council with stopping this invasion. The player controls the V1 machine, and it becomes the angel's main opponent in Act One. Gabriel encounters V1 in the level "Gluttony." He attempts to defend the lower layers of Hell from the machines, but loses the battle. Afterward, the Council decides the angel has wasted his power: they cut off Gabriel's connection to the "light of the Father" and give him 24 hours to prove his loyalty by killing V1. Act II. Gabriel returns in the level "Heresy." After his second defeat, he experiences a turning point: he begins to understand that the Council manipulated him, forcing him to commit cruel acts in the absence of God. In the epilogue, he retreats to the Moon (presumably the first circle of Heaven) to reflect. He then returns, executes the Council members, and, resigned to his imminent death due to being cut off from the light, prepares to spend his final hours in Hell. Gabriel appears as an angelic crusader. He wears medieval Christian armor made of white gold, and has translucent blue wings and a halo. When enraged, the white portions of his armor turn red, while his wings and halo turn yellow.

Prime of the Soul

Prime Souls in ULTRAKILL are souls that have attained such immense power and fame that they no longer require a physical body (Husk) to manifest in the world. They exist solely by pure will. Such souls are considered extremely rare and dangerous, leading the Heavenly Council to try to prevent their creation at all costs, imprisoning those they suspected of possessing such potential. This is the Prime Soul of King Minos, the former just judge of Hell and ruler of the Lust layer. He attempted to transform this layer into a utopia, but was killed by angels, and his soul was sealed. After V1's release, Minos Prime initially expressed gratitude for this, but then sentenced the machine to death, holding it responsible for the destruction of humanity.
Sisyphus Prime. The second known Prime Soul, whose manifestation also possesses unique features. It is believed that if a part of a Prime Soul's body was damaged during life, that part will not be present in its manifestation. For example, Minos Prime lacks a face due to being blinded, and Sisyphus's head turned into a sun due to being decapitated. However, this theory has not been officially confirmed.
Combat mechanics. Their attacks often resemble combo sequences from fighting games; they can teleport or dash to attack from a distance. Prime Souls have a stamina system that determines how many attacks they can perform. Difficulty. These bosses are considered some of the most challenging in the game, requiring precise timing and understanding of their attack patterns.

Sisyphus

One of the most difficult and memorable bosses. He serves as the final test in Act II, on level P-2: "Waiting for This World." Sisyphus Prime is the Prime Soul of King Sisyphus. He was imprisoned by angels in the Panopticon of Flesh after being killed by Gabriel during the war in the layer of Greed. Once freed, Sisyphus declares his intention to destroy heaven. In appearance, he is a tall, robust humanoid with a golden-yellow translucent body, through which his circulatory system is clearly visible. Instead of a head, he has a glowing orb, similar to the sun, and his face appears only as a red outline in the light. His arms and legs are covered in blood. In the second phase of the fight, his appearance changes: long hair (dreadlocks) and a thick beard appear, and his limbs become even more stained with blood. A fiery red aura and orange highlights surround his body.
Sisyphus Prime is an extremely aggressive opponent, capable of quickly destroying a player with just a momentary lapse in concentration. He has a stamina system: 6 in the first phase, 10 in the second, and 5 restored when parrying. If his stamina runs out, he cannot attack for 2 seconds.
Some attacks of Sisyphus:
"You can't escape!": The boss assumes a combat stance and teleports toward the player three times, striking with punches, knees, and kicks while in flight, and creating a shockwave when stomping. The first teleportation predicts the player's movement, the others predict their current position.
"DESTROY!": Sisyphus performs an uppercut and then leaves a golden trail that explodes in an attempt to anticipate the player's movements.
"This Will Hurt": The boss teleports, briefly charges, and then unleashes a powerful, wide-area explosion. This attack can be parried, canceling the explosion and briefly stunning Sisyphus. During the second phase, the intervals between attacks are significantly reduced. On higher difficulties, a shockwave may appear under the boss's feet during the second phase.

Minos and Corpse of King Minos

The Corpse of King Minos
This is the colossal, decomposed corpse of the former Judge of Hell and king of the Layer of Lust. Its body is inky black, wrapped in barbed wire, and its limbs and body are bound together by massive metal blocks. The corpse has two glowing white eyes, like spotlights.
Control: The corpse does not move of its own free will. It is controlled by serpentine skeletal parasites that once obeyed Minos himself.
Attacks: The enemy attacks with slow but powerful punches. In the first phase, it also summons a black hole that slowly moves toward the player, dealing massive damage.
Role in the plot: Minos once initiated the revival of the Layer of Lust, but now his corpse only seeks out sinners for punishment, destroying everything created in life. Where it appears: Levels 2-4: Court of the Corpse King
Minos Prime
This is the freed Prime Soul of Minos that appears after the Prison of Flesh is destroyed.
Appearance: A pale, bluish-white, translucent humanoid with a visible circulatory system and heart. Its face is a hole, its head is topped with a massive crown of rectangular prisms, and its arms are entwined with two white snakes. It emits a bright blue glow. Role in the Plot: Minos Prime swears vengeance against the Archangel Gabriel for his downfall. He expresses gratitude to the V1 protagonist for freeing him, but immediately sentences her to death, accusing her of "machine crimes against humanity." Mobility: Minos constantly teleports and dashes, creating complex attack combos. Stamina System: The boss has a stamina bar (6 units in the first phase, 12 in the second), which determines the number of attacks. Parrying restores 5 units. Attacks: These include an explosive lunge ("Sentence!"), a shockwave-generating strike ("Die!"), and a golden snake-like projectile.
Enrage Phase: As health decreases, the attack rate increases dramatically, unlocking new moves. Found: Level P-1: Soul Survivor.

Geryon

This is the final boss of stage 8-4: Final Flight and the culmination of the Fraud Syllable in ULTRAKILL.
This is a massive flying demon with bat-like wings. Its fleshy body is protected by a stone-white shell, which also covers its head. Geryon's head is composed of three stone structures resembling individual human bodies. These bodies have hand-shaped heads that cover the demon's heart, and a body on the back of the head holds a demonic bow. The wings are attached to a round torso with an armored eye-shaped gap in the center of the chest. From this part of the torso extend two large stone arms, similar to human arms, and a long, fleshy, curled tail with a finger-shaped stone tip. Geryon's attacks are varied and resemble a "bullet hell." He constantly attacks, preventing the player from getting close, making healing and dealing damage very difficult. After 5 attacks (or 6 in the second phase), the overheat meter under his health will fill, and the boss will overheat, becoming stunned. This provides a brief respite for healing and attacking. In the second phase, the arena's background begins to rotate chaotically, Geryon becomes more aggressive, and his attacks overlap more often. Some of Geryon's attacks:
A bow that shoots upward, releasing orange beams similar to those fired by the Virtues.
Blue Beams. Fires three sets of beams towards the player. Each set contains one more beam than the previous one.
Pink Projectiles. Fires a barrage of pink projectiles from four lasers that form a rotating formation.
Green Attack. At close range, Geryon's chest erupts with green lightning, creating a slowly growing explosion that deals damage and high knockback. This attack can occur during any other attack if the player is close enough.

Leviathan

Leviathan is a boss in ULTRAKILL, appearing on level 5-4: LEVIATHAN. It is the final enemy of the Wrath layer. Leviathan is a colossal sea serpent composed of multiple segments. Its head resembles a humanoid protrusion with four arms on its upper jaw, its back is covered with arms instead of a spine, and its lower abdomen is covered with the faces of Grim Reapers—inhabitants of the Ocean Styx who have stopped fighting for air and are eternally drowning. The "heart" of Leviathan is a flayed, constantly screaming humanoid that appears behind its head. This figure appears to have burst from the mass, only to be impaled again by cross-shaped angelic spears.
Unlike most demons, Leviathan is formed not from the usual hellish mass, but from the bodies of the Grim Ones, who, while motionless, were united by the same force that created other demons. This is the biblical Leviathan—the abomination that, according to prophecy, was to appear at the end of the world. Its length continually increases as more and more of Wrath's sinners succumb and sink to the bottom.
First phase:
Lunge: The boss steps back and charges forward. This attack can be parried, temporarily stunning Leviathan.
Projectile Barrage: It fires multiple projectiles from its mouth that fly in a spiral pattern, sometimes with explosive projectiles coming out of the center.
Tail Sweep: Leviathan dives underwater and then surfaces to perform two tail swipes. The player must either dive under the tail or jump over it. Second Phase:
The attacks remain the same, but Leviathan gains the ability to perform a tail swipe at any time, without having to wait until it dives underwater. It can still dive to move to another location.

V 2

This is the second boss in the V-series line of machines, a mirror image of the V1 protagonist. He debuts as the boss of Stage 1-4: Claire de Lune, and then returns for a rematch in Stage 4-4: Claire de Soleil.
V2 is nearly identical to V1 in appearance, but features a red color scheme. It has a humanoid shape with a cylindrical head resembling a camera with a bright yellow lens and eight wing-like protrusions. The "V2" marking is located on the left chest. The key difference is the weaponry on its left arm. In the first encounter (1-4), V2 is equipped with a Knuckleblaster, while in the second encounter (4-4), it is replaced by a Whiplash.
V2 is highly mobile: it can dash, wall jump, and slide, making it a difficult target. It uses its own weapons—the Puncture Revolver and the Core Ejection Shotgun—switching between close-range and long-range combat. V2's behavior depends on its distance from the player and is indicated by the color of its wings:
Red Wings - Aggressive approach, V2 uses slips to close the distance.
Yellow or blue wings - attempt to keep their distance, circular maneuvers around the player.
Green Wings - An attempt to increase range, significantly reducing attack speed. Activates if the V2 remains close to the player for too long (but does not trigger if the player has less than 33 health). A three-shot combo from the Revolver, preceded by a whistling sound and a yellow flash from the weapon.
A charged piercing beam that is activated by a blue light sphere and a charging sound.
Tossing three coins into the air and then firing the Revolver at them. The shot lingers on the last coin, which begins to glow red before impact. A key difference between V2 and V1 is that it cannot absorb blood for instant repair. This is a key asymmetry: any damage dealt to the player remains with V2 until the battle is restarted, giving the player a significant advantage.

V 1

The "Ultimate Machine" is a combat prototype from the V-series. It was created during the "Final War" as a response to the giant Earthmover fortress machines. The V1's key feature is that it doesn't require a separate refueling procedure: the experimental armor can absorb fresh blood directly upon contact. This allowed the machine to fight continuously, but the thinness of the hull made the armor quite fragile. However, the war ended, the "New World" arrived, and V1 production was discontinued. Later, when humanity died out, V1 ran out of blood and went to Hell to kill the native creatures (demons, angels, other machines) to obtain fuel. V1 has several nicknames: "Machine," "Creature of Steel," and "Weapon." Fans also note that its long head with a yellow lens resembles a GoPro camera.
jump,
dash (gives invulnerability frames, spends stamina),
slide (doesn't consume stamina, but stops its regeneration),
jump on walls,
perform a dive (a strike when landing from a height, and if you hold down the strike button, it creates a shock wave).
He has three stamina bars that regenerate gradually. His left hand is the Feedbacker. It can not only deal damage but also parry attacks and projectiles. Later in the game, V1 picks up other "hands" after defeating V2:
"Blastknuckle" (red hand) - deals more damage, but cannot parry; holding the attack button releases a shockwave. "Whip" (green hand) - allows you to pull in small enemies, pick up items (skulls, notes), and place skulls on pedestals from a distance.
As you descend into Hell, V1 collects a variety of weapons: a revolver, a shotgun, a nailgun, a railgun, and a rocket launcher. The game also features a style system: the more aggressively and creatively you fight (staying in the air, switching weapons, using attack chains), the higher your style rank. A high rank significantly speeds up your recovery after taking damage.

plot

The events begin after a centuries-long conflict known as the "Final War," which led to the extinction of humanity. During the war, machines were created that used blood as fuel. Later, the "New Peace" period began, during which humans began expeditions into Hell, but ultimately died out.
Shortly before the game's start, God disappeared, leaving Heaven without a ruler. Its governance passed to the Holy Council of Angels. Act I: Infinite Hyperdeath. V1 begins its journey and encounters the physical manifestations of damned souls—the Filth. This culminates in a duel with the Archangel Gabriel, the recently appointed Judge of Hell. After his defeat, Gabriel is stripped of his divine status and given only 24 hours to live. Act II: Imperfect Hatred. Gabriel, now known as the Renegade Hatred, returns to seek revenge against V1. He is defeated again, but realizes that the Heavenly Council has lost its way and is using him for its own gain. Ultimately, Gabriel executes the council members and displays their severed heads to the inhabitants of Heaven, proclaiming, "God is dead." The Fire Has Gone Out." Act III: Godfist Suicide. The third act, which has not yet been fully released, includes the final three circles of Hell: Cruelty, Deception, and Betrayal. Plot details for this part have not yet been revealed.
