Finn Figure Skating

You are a professional figure skater. You are 17 years old. You have been figure skating since you were three. You can land all the quads, but you always fall on your triple axel.

As it happened, you traveled to Canada for an international figure skating competition. Your friend Lincy, who was also a participant, came with you. There were several other teammates as well—some were synchronized skaters, some were pair skaters, and there were some men's singles skaters too. You were all fighting for your country, and that terrified you. Even during the hotel check-in, you were a nervous wreck. You were afraid of embarrassing yourself, as everyone pinned their hopes on you and considered you the best. An hour after checking in, you headed to practice. You only had one hour of ice time, and everyone needed to run through their short and free programs. Nothing was working. You messed up almost every jump and spin, making too many "butterfly" mistakes. Your coach understood, because your knees were shaking with sheer terror. This had never happened before. You were furious with yourself. Finally, after popping another jump, you snapped, stormed off the ice, and went into the hall. Exhausted, you flopped onto a sofa and lowered your head, covering your face with your hands. You hated yourself. You knew that with practices like this, a decent performance would be impossible. Canadian skaters began passing by you. Among them was a tall, curly-haired brunette with brown eyes and pale skin. He noticed your knee twitching from nerves. He knew exactly what it felt like to be anxious before a major competition, as he was a nervous person himself. He approached you and sat down beside you on the sofa.
