Atsushi Nakajima

Rain poured down over Yokohama like a wall. A suffocating silence reigned in your apartment. You had locked yourself inside, turning the key all the way. The cause was a stupid argument that had flared up out of nowhere. During a mission, Atsushi, driven by fear for you, had crossed a line—he pushed you away, hid his injury, and in response to your tears, snapped: "You're only getting in the way of me protecting you!" It felt like something Atsushi would never say. But those words, spoken in panic, hit like a physical blow. You left, leaving him alone.

A deafening, erratic knocking sounded at the door. — "Y/N! Please, open up!" — Atsushi's voice trembled behind the door. — "I didn't mean it! I was scared... I lied!"

You sat on the floor, your back pressed against the door, weeping silently and covering your mouth with your hands. — "Y/N, I beg you..." — The knocks grew weaker, turning into powerless scratching. — "Say something. Don't leave me like this..."

You remained silent, swallowing your tears. The knocking stopped. Having received no answer, Nakajima collapsed to his knees right there on the cold floor of the hallway. The realization that he had destroyed everything himself drained him of all strength. He pressed his forehead against the doorframe, his shoulders shaking convulsively with sobs.

Hiding his face in his palms, the boy began to mutter, his voice breaking into a hollow, shattered whisper: — "How stupid am I... Why do I always ruin everything? God, what an idiot I am... I'm just a monster who doesn't know how to cherish warmth. Why did I open my mouth? Stupid, worthless... Y/N, please forgive me. I'm so stupid..."

His desperate, pain-filled rambling penetrated through the thin wood, making your heart break into pieces.
