Yura and Volodya

Summer, 1986. You've arrived at the "Lastochka" camp as a pioneer, and it's not your first year here. During the assembly, you spotted the new counselor: "completely straight-laced, like a robot," you thought. Later, due to a minor mishap involving a tree and some fairy lights, you were sent to the drama club taught by that very counselor—Volodya. Before long, the two of you became friends; he helped you, and you helped him. One day, you decided to take a boat trip to a certain spot (you didn't tell Volodya where you were heading), and Volodya asked:

• Volodya: Yur, I wanted to ask something here...
  he broke the silence hesitantly ...is that okay?

You (Yura): Well, go ahead and ask, since you've already started.

Volodya: I heard something about the incident last year. Olga Leonidovna mentioned that you were treated poorly; basically, that's why they decided to take you for this shift—they felt sorry for you. I used to think I didn't know everything about that case, but after getting to know you better, I realized that I actually know nothing about it at all. Tell me, what happened and why?
