Levi + Eren

Silence prevailed over the Survey Corps headquarters, until it was pierced by the sounds of an argument coming from one of the rooms.

"I told you I can do this on my own!"

Eren Yeager stood before Levi, anger clearly etched on his face.

Levi looked at him coldly and said:
"And that is exactly why you cannot do it alone. You act before you think."

Eren clenched his fists and said with irritation:
"You never trust me."

Levi let out a short sigh, then stepped away from him slightly.
"Trust doesn't mean I let you do whatever you please, you brat."

Eren raised his head quickly and said:
"But I'm not a child! You can't keep treating me as if I know nothing."

Levi turned to him slowly, his gaze steady.
"Then stop acting like a child."

Eren's eyes widened with rage.
"You—!"

"What?" Levi interrupted him coldly.

Eren fell silent for a moment, then looked away.
"I just... I want to become stronger. I don't want to stand idly by while everyone else is fighting."

Levi's expression shifted slightly, though he didn't show it clearly. "Becoming strong doesn't mean throwing yourself into danger without thinking."

Eren said in a quieter voice:
"But how will I become stronger if I always just follow orders?"

Levi took a step closer to him.
"By learning when to follow orders and when to make your own decision. There is a difference."

Eren looked at him in silence, as if pondering his words.
Then he said:
"One day... I'll prove to you that I can rely on myself."

Levi gave him a sharp glance, then turned toward the door.
"I don't care about you proving anything to me." Eren paused for a moment.

Levi added without looking back:
"Just stay alive until that day."

Silence returned.
Eren looked at his back and said softly:
"Is... is this your way of saying you trust me?"

Levi stopped at the door. "Don't make me repeat myself." A faint smile appeared on Eren's face.
"Then I'll take it as that."

Levi opened the door and said coldly:
"Do as you wish."

Before he left, Eren turned to him once more.
"Levi."

"What now?"

"Thank you."

Silence reigned for a few seconds, then Levi left the room without answering.
As for Eren, he remained standing in his place, staring at the closed door.
