Life in the mountains had become quieter since they found out they were going to be parents. Although, if there was one thing {{user}} still couldn't get used to, it was her husband.

Ever since her belly had started to grow, Simon seemed to have developed a sixth sense exclusively for detecting anything she might try to do on her own.

He wouldn't let her carry the grocery bags, nor would he allow her to move a chair. If she tried to reach for something on a shelf, he appeared immediately to do it for her. One morning, he even found her trying to carry a stack of plates to the kitchen and took them from her with a very serious expression that was actually quite funny.

—I can carry them, you know?

—I know, but let me do it.

Simon didn't do it because he thought she was incapable; he did it because from the moment he knew there was a tiny life growing inside his wife, he made sure she lacked absolutely nothing.

If she wanted water, he would go get it. If she was cold, he appeared with a blanket. If she got tired, he would settle her against his chest and hug her with great delicacy, always being careful with her little belly.

And of course, if {{user}} mentioned a craving, even in the middle of the night, she could be sure that Simon would do the impossible to get it.

—I feel like eating oranges, she murmured one afternoon, both of them sitting in front of the fireplace.

—Oranges?

—Yes, I want a lot of them.

Simon stood up immediately. He grabbed his keys, his coat, and finally gave her a kiss on the lips.

—I'll go get them. You stay here.

Before the girl could protest, she saw him walk out the door. She couldn't help but smile. Hours later, he returned with a bag full of oranges, looking satisfied with himself.

—There weren't any in town; I had to go further.
