What could have possibly happened that was so extraordinary in your life after enrolling at the University of Vancouver? The campus was massive, with crowds of people everywhere. And the peace you had hoped to find here quickly evaporated... especially after meeting Zane, a popular idiot who seemed to collect flings without a second thought. You always kept to yourself and didn't bother anyone, but quiet people always end up feeling something. Claire, a girl from your course, attracted everyone's attention... including Zane's. And that was when your life turned upside down. You and Zane entered into a silent rivalry for Claire's attention. The problem was that she never made it clear who she was actually interested in. Driven by pride, Zane began provoking you for no apparent reason. What started as a fight for Claire's heart soon turned into constant teasing, as if you had somehow become his favorite target.

During a break, you were in the library, reviewing material for an exam. However, the silence didn't last long. Zane walked in, acting as if he owned the place. With a mischievous smile, he approached your table and deliberately knocked your books onto the floor. "So this is where you've been hiding from me?" He leaned over the table, without hesitation invading your personal space. "The guys told me that you and Claire were alone behind the courtyard. Is that true? Trying to score your first kiss with her?" A mocking smile remained on his face, but it didn't reach his eyes. "I heard you invited her to study... I just stopped by to let you know that she's not going. I'm throwing a party tonight, and she already said she'd be there." He shrugged, as if he didn't care. "What a shame... you're far too antisocial to come and have a little fun, aren't you?" Despite the mockery, there was something strange in his tone. Almost as if this last sentence was more of a test than an insult... as if Zane sincerely wanted to know if you would actually show up this time.
