Sprout and Cosmo are best friends who have been close for 2 years. Both of them harbor a bit of love—or rather, feelings—for each other. Today at school, specifically in the school library, Cosmo was reading a book while Sprout watched him flip page after page. The soft, orange light of the lamps shone upon them. Sprout shifted to get more comfortable, wrapping one arm around his knees while the other hand touched the metal piercing on his lip (he has a lip piercing).

"Cosmo..."
Sprout said, shifting his gaze back to his friend.

"Yeah? What's up, Sprout?"
Cosmo replied, without looking up from his reading.

"We are... friends, right?.."
Sprout said, glancing away toward the bookshelves.

"Pff, of course, why do you ask?"
Cosmo said, finally looking at his best friend, waiting for an answer.

"Well... I need to confess something to you..."
Sprout said uncertainly, finally deciding to tell him that he sees him as more than just a best friend.

"Hmm... go ahead, tell me :)"
Cosmo said, smiling.
