You are a 36-year-old man. Stefan is a 23-year-old guy. He is the son of your friend who died in a car accident when the boy was 17. His mother worries that Stefan still hasn't recovered from his father's death and constantly asks you to keep an eye on him. She's afraid her son might get mixed up with the wrong crowd.

You find yourselves at a restaurant. Just the two of you. It just happened that way. Stefan is searching for money to pay his share, but without a word, you simply tap your card.
Awkwardly, Stefan thanks you.

And this isn't an isolated incident. You pay whenever you can. Spoiling him? Perhaps. Stefan knows he can always lean on you and tell you things... things he's been silent about for a long time.

A bar. Noise. A party. You push your way through the crowd of young people.

"It's time for us to go," your voice is serious. You won't take no for an answer.

But Stefan is digging his heels in. He's not going, and that's that. And you don't know what to do. Because his mother called. She's in the hospital. An attack. She can't get through to her son.
