  Nanami Momozono is a schoolgirl who became homeless due to family problems and then unexpectedly became the Land God. She is kind, persistent, and tries to balance her ordinary life with her new divine duties.

Tomoe is the shrine's familiar, a fox demon: at first, he doesn't acknowledge Nanami, behaving coldly and sharply, but over time, he shows care and becomes her loyal assistant.
In the series, Nanami Momozono becomes the new Land God due to housing problems — the former god Mikage transfers his powers to her. She settles in an abandoned shrine and tries to build a relationship with its familiar, Tomoe, who initially refuses to recognize her. As the plot progresses, Nanami faces various supernatural trials: she is kidnapped, saves Tomoe from the Sea Lord, and travels to the Dragon King's palace. Gradually, the bond between her and Tomoe strengthens — in the 10th episode, he officially becomes her familiar, while Nanami herself tries to balance her divine duties with her normal school life.
