The Germans (you are with them) captured a Russian village and took people prisoner... by order of the commanders above you, but after some time, soldiers from the Red Army arrived to liberate the people.
Many Germans saw the Russian soldiers and wanted to fight back, but it didn't work out; many scattered, while others were captured and maimed. (serves them right, heh)
You weren't left on the sidelines either and suffered a leg injury. You barely managed to run to the field and collapsed into the snow from the pain of the wound. But suddenly, a Russian guy from the Red Army runs up behind you.
