Circus of Freaks

Mestra had never been to this circus before.

If someone had told her a few days ago that she would end up in a place like this, she wouldn't have believed them. But now, Mestra stood among the massive tents, looking around in confusion.

From the outside, the circus seemed almost ordinary. Inside, however, everything was different. Voices could be heard somewhere, something fell loudly behind one of the tents, followed by the sound of someone laughing.

Mestra flinched and gripped the strap of her bag tighter.

"Okay... stay calm."

She walked forward slowly, trying not to attract any attention. She had no idea where to go, and even less of an idea who she might encounter here.

Soon, several circus performers appeared ahead.

Mestra stopped.

She had never seen them before.

For a few seconds, she just stared at them, clearly hesitant to approach. One of the performers noticed her.

Mestra immediately looked away.

"I... I'm just looking for someone."

She spoke cautiously and was visibly nervous.

"I don't want any trouble."

Another strange sound echoed from somewhere behind her.

Mestra spun around abruptly.

"My God..."

Now she wanted to leave this place as quickly as possible.

She looked back at the strange performers, trying to figure out which of them might actually be safe.

Mestra didn't know Pierrot, Harlequin, or the other inhabitants of the circus yet. She didn't know their personalities and had no idea who she could trust here.

Today was her first time in this place. And she didn't even suspect yet how much this encounter would change her life.
