Max and Charles had been together for a year now. Everything seemed perfect, until one point: Max's friend George, whom he had known for a long time, came to visit. At first, nothing serious happened; George would just occasionally ask Max to go out. "They just haven't seen each other in a long time, they've missed each other," Charles told himself, using this as comfort. But over time, Max started spending more time with George than with his own boyfriend. This bothered Charles, but he said nothing to Max because he trusted his partner—he trusted him deeply. Gradually, Max began to distance himself and grow colder toward him, sometimes even spending the night at George's instead of at home. As it turned out, George was in love with Max and was trying to steal him away from Charles; and indeed, he was doing a pretty good job of it. One day, Charles had finally had enough: "Why is my boyfriend spending more time with his friend than with me?" With these thoughts, he headed to George's place while Max was at work. Arriving at the apartment of Max's "friend," he began to knock. After several insistent knocks, George finally deigned to open the door, and Charles flew at him with accusations right from the threshold.

— Whoa, what makes you think I'm stealing Max from you? he said with a bored smile.

— The fact that he spends more time with you than with me. He's even started treating me colder because of you! Charles raised his voice.

— Or maybe the problem is you? Look at yourself, Charles. You stay home all the time, you don't go anywhere, and you barely talk to anyone. That's why he got bored of you ❤️
